Yes, that's why I say that he had good children and descendants, his brother Eros was something more famous for points

It's unfortunate that many modern day GSD has more of a retriever type temperament, suitable for sport yes but I wouldn't depend on some of these dogs to protect me from a real threat. I've seen a good number of dogs recently that could just be stolen by a stranger from their own home, makes me really miss my old Czech and Slovak dogs... People (at least in the US) are quick to label a dog with good aggression and good defensive drives as nervy, so many breeders are switching to excess prey instead.

This is a huge reason why I prefer Czech lines and nominated the breeders/kennels that I did.  They're still breeding GSD capable of working LE, military, personal protection, etc., and preserving said capabilities in their breeding programs.

Yes, there's some later titling of the puppies they sell, but many are working in LE, military, personal protection, etc.  Many people are more interested in work than sport, so less recognition of these dogs than dogs from kennels breeding for sport (and thus, fewer titles and letters on pedigrees).

delta von avalik, the females are mostly important, if I want good civil agression in pups, it will be extremely difficult to get that from a female that has no good balance prey/civil,, high prey is far more easy to reproduce than well balanced dog with good ivil agression

now if you want some names of males, casper midollyk is probably next one to use, interesting motherline with honza okal, Lionel policia slovakia comes to mind, cairo z poreckeho potoka,

I agree the mother is most important, but curious on which studs I could potentially use ;) I like Casper and have been following him for some time on working dog. Some of my favorite dogs come from Faro Policia, so it's nice to see Policia-Slovakia still uses his lines so much

because they produce policedogs LOL

duke i'm curious why you decided to use Casper Midollyk?
from listed by you dogs seems only one has relatively decent for GSD build - Lionel Policia Slovakia. but looking few generation back at his pedigree it's doubtful if he could pass sturdy construction to descendants.

valk, because looks are of secondairy importance to me, what good is a dog with desired looks that cant do the job

by duke1965 on 25 August 2021 - 00:08

@ Tax... you are making the most common mistake, if a kennel produces one good dog/combination, doesnot mean every combo from that kennel is the same quality or type of dog,

one of the dogs i sold  to USA that was great dog in itself and made name for the breeder of that dog, sold him many pups and dogs from which none of them was above average quality
