I really think the average "PPD" buyer, in the USA, thinks that they are buying a Golden Retriever that suddenly turns into "Cujo" when the bad guy shows up.
as HD said the financial catastrophe that can occur when that PPD dog (USA) attacks can destroy a person's future is often overlooked
jmo,
Rik.

Rick, the financial catastrophe could occur if one train and use for PP the dog who is not suitable for that purpose.
on other hand, as i mentioned before, it always was hard tusk to find suitable dogs.
with present politic in breeding even harder, if possible at all.

The financial ruin will occur ANYTIME a dog bites anyone. Anyone can use in civil court for damages, future loss of earning potential, emotional and psychological damage and a host of other shit the lawyer will come up with.
It has nothing to do with suitability or proper use, it has to do with the laws of the land and what year we live in.

Agreed, Hired - the present litigious society means that a dog bite can be financial ruin of the owner.
