It's really just a set of parameters I devised to filter out the worse producers as well as producers who may have been made to "look better" by witholding of their offsprings xrays for final evaluation.  You could raise or lower the bar in any of the following criteria, and end up with a slightly different list regarding the marginal producers, but the consistently good producers tend to remain present in their ranking significance.

To make the "301" on the list, a stud had to...
1. have sizeable sample of 100+ progeny
2. 20%+ of the total progeny which had been certified a1/normal
3. 33%+ of total progeny which x-rays were submitted for evaluation
4. 50%+ of which that were submitted resulting in a1/normal ratings

The fifth column is a composite estimate of combined x-rayed/non-xrayed progeny's liklihood of obtaining an a1/normal rating.  Basically, a modifier to column "4" which holds no regard for the non-evaluated progeny, to account for the probable purposeful skewing of production value by witholding of adverse radiological analysis from the official record.

Since the time I devised this list a few years back, a scientific study was conducted that actually set out to determine whether or not such witholding would skew the results of determining "breed value".  I think I posted a link to it somewhere in this forum about a year ago.

The bitch used here is the most powerful bitch I have had the pleasure of working in a long time.  Nathan Frazier went to Germany and hand picked this bitch and had her bred to Ellute before she came back!  She is indeed an ugly bitch, but still KKL2, but I have rarely seen any other that can hold a candle to her...  She is very real and is civil as they come!  No decoy better slip the sleeve on her(unless he has one on each arm)....the game isn't over just because she gets the sleeve!  She will spit that thing in a heart beat and give any helper a run for their money!  I usually keep a tug in my pocket to engage her if she has thoughts about going after the helper.....this has saved many a helpers when she is worked up in agression and civil drive!  A better SchH3 bitch would be hard to find......IMO!

My Jimbeam son is very interesting. He has excellent drives..looks just like Jimbeam....hits like a frieght train....full..calm grip. stable temperament. We're working on our Sch1. Could use a tad more drive in obedience but, that probably my shortcomings as a trainer! My Harro/Lena bitch is so out of control...excellent food drive..tracks well. Shows good prey drive...I'm leaving her grips alone at this time. Just beginning her leash work....she bounces off everything.
