Well, That almost totally eliminates risks but not everyone has over $6000 to buy a healthy adult dog.

Agree with this 100%! Yes, it's expensive to buy a full grown dog, but you don't have that risk of heartbreak. Both our male and female have ZWs in the 70s, hopefully their puppies will have a lower chance of HD.
