KYLE

by KYLE on 27 August 2013 - 17:08

For those that have attended these large events in the past. The B and C are scheduled to start at 7:00 AM. Does this time generally hold true or at least close. Will they always do the B in the morning for one flight and the C in the afternoon for the next flight. Does it ever get reversed. I'm asking because even though I am about 70 miles from the venue, I have to pick up my children from school by 2 PM. They may miss school one day for a day of enrichment.

Thanks,
Kyle

Mystere
I also know what it is to be in a rough area, I was born in London during the War 1940; We were evacuated away after a Bomb blew the House and Street down killing my Mothers Sister; Anyway Mum did not know where she was sent too just put on a train and the ticket said Newbury  No where to go and carrying me in her arms with my two sisters by her side. Anyway the years went by and i tell you it was tough Most days i came home with cuts and bruises through being beat up by the local gang which went to the same school.
No one helped in those days you looked after yourself, When i was 13 years old i was walking through an archway when a 19 year old Lad Whacked me over the head with a rusty Frying Pan it went down to my neck and you can guess made a fair mess sounds funny now saying it. Anyway what the point of this is no matter where you go or live you cannot let others rule your life, and i was not a big Lad so i said right now things change for me, and they did i then it time to be able to look after myself and i took up the sport of Karate It changed my outlook and has since stood me in good stead through my life in fact it saved my life several times? But more than anything it gave me confidence and since those early days that is one thing that i have always had ever since. The Guy who hit me on the head about a year later finished up in Prison and when he got out went off to Australia i think, So now i do not ever allow situations like you describe stop me from doing what i want. and of course since my youth i have seen much of poverty and killing, but that is another story. I know you being a Female does not help you a lot but why not go to the WUSV you have time to arrange to stop or to be with during the event Guys on this Forum, where you can feel safe? In fact if i were there i would personally take it on myself to  offer to be your chaperone during your stay, So do not miss out get together with others some in the same postition as yourself i would think

Kyle,

Yes they start the event bright and early with the birds and the worms. However it will go all day, probably until at least 4pm so if you get there by 9 or 10 you will have plenty of routines left to see.

When we reserved 3 weeks ago, the Red Roof was the only nearby hotel with available dog rooms for the GSDCA National. Maybe you can do better for the WUSV championship, but I wouldn't wait too much longer to try.

If you turn left out of the hotel to go to the stadium the bridge you go over is just a small hiway bridge, over a small river or inlet. The area on the other side is depressed, boarded up houses and schools, we drove the area--it might have changed, this was 1 1/2 years ago. The road to the stadium goes by a small prison and casino (side by side). The stadium itself is off set to the left a few blocks from the road, well marked. It is not surrounded by anything but empty lots. It was almost new when I was there, the area right around the stadium is fine. Did not mean to infer different. Almost all stadiums are built in area's like this because that's where the land is the least expensive. Local security makes sure the stadium and area around are safe. Anyone can always hop on I 95 go south and exit right at the stadium--someone else on this list described---when I was there was no stadium exit off 95 yet

Obedience and protection will start at 7am---they usually have flights of five or six--one flight will first do their obedience, then the field is set up for protection and the same flight then does their protection. I believe but not positive it will be set up to go this way

I think some people are trying to sabotage this event because they believe that if the event fails it is a loss for WDA and thus a "win" for USCA. The reality is that if this event does not come off well everyone in the sport looses.

We should be promoting this event and trying to make it the best possible. If you think there are going to be problems try solving the problems. Ask the host club if they need your help. Offer to share rental cars and hotel rooms to help defray some of the cost. But don't sit on your ass hating and predicting doom on the internet.

You have to ignore people like that Chris.....it's going to happen and be successful because the event is international and the international community doesn't care about the pettiness of the haters whoever they may be!

Just people asking for info and others trying their best to help.
