:) I'm having particular fun with this one too he he. Either way I'm happy, though Hubby is not particularly fond of LCs... that doesn't matter because he's mine LOL and I have a 10 yr old boy DYING to start working a dog (which includes coat maintainance!!!!!!) My boy will be bringing pup to club and working him. He's helped raise many a puppy, but this will be his first (if Mom can keep her grubby hands out!) venture into IPO. I'm positive that with the awesome guidance from those at our club and an excellent decoy and teacher that he'll be H.O.T. by a 10 yr old.

Does anyone know what the youngest H.O.T. handler has been??

I don't know the youngest HOT, but, I think it's fantastic! Good luck to you and your son! Let us know how things go please. :-) Lots of updates! :-)

pretty certain it is not a coat

I sold 5 out of a litter of 9 as long coats, ended up that none were coats.
All had beautiful full "show coats".

That pup is a real looker.

6 weeks tomorrow :)
Whatever he is, he looks "different" from his siblings. Something about him really stands out in my mind, just can't seem to put my finger on it.

Looks "plushy" stock coat.  Very cute.  I had a few in a litter that I could have sworn were going to be long coat because they had a fuzzier look to them then the rest of the litter.  But the fuzzier puppies in that litter had longer guard hairs, which was what made them look fuzzier and potentially long coat.  In my actually long coated puppy (not related to the litter), her undercoat and guard hairs where longer as a pup.  Plus she had longer behind the ear fur.

From what I can tell, it is the guard hairs that seem to be longer... the undercoat looks normal, though the hair inside his ears is longer then his littermates...
His face shape almost looks different then the other puppies... or its the way his guard hairs are growing that make it appear that way? Or maybe it is just me LOL
I've been over scrutinizing the little guy. :)

He is absolutely adorable!! But to me, not a coat....not from any of his pictures does he look in any way like a coat to me, I think he will have a nice thick coat and should be one heck of a hunk!  Love his expression.

I don't think so either. Not a long coat. Really was up in the air till you posted the new pics.
