UschiRun

Well, we haven't been to the vet for a weight/worming for about 3 weeks now, but she has gotten a little bit bigger- I just loosened up her collar today. She has been on 4 cups of food a few weeks ago, but when she ate she still seemed hungry, so I now have her up to 5 cups, and she seems very happy with the amount. Her hips and back legs seem to have developed a tad bit more muscle as well. I've been thinking of cutting back on normal treats (store bought ones) in favor of more natural foods since I think she may have an intolerance to one or a few of the treats we have. I know it's not her kibble though.

Even when she doesn't have diarrhea I'll randomly give her pumpkin because she really loves it. Also, when she was younger we would give her goats milk as sort of the ultimate treat she could get for doing something good. Haven't done this for a while since we buy it on the local economy (Sainsbury's) because they don't have goats milk on the base. She also really likes watermelon but those will be out of season soon.

Are there any other foods you like to give as treats? I might start giving her little bits of cooked chicken, but I'd rather use chicken for when she starts more in depth training.

Many dogs love carrots. Pitcarin's book "Natural Health for Dog and Cats" has some good recipes for home made treats.
