Go run to your dogs Karl! They are all happily waiting to help you herd those Heavenly sheep.
Prayers for your family. Thank you for being a faithful pillar of our breed. You will be terribly missed. :(

We have dreaded this news for the past several months. Our only consolation is that he is no longer suffering and is reunied with his dogs.
Last week i wrote: "Even the sheep will be saddened to learn there will be no more Kirschental dogs to boss them around." K9nme and others agreed.
From our first Kirschental bred dog in 1974 to the dogs we are so fortunate to have today - we will be forever indebted to Karl for his enduring love of our breed, and to Marion for her infinate patience with my never ending questions.
61 years in one breed is more than a hobby or a business - it is truly a life's work.
From his unpresented wins at the Herding Trials to breeding the 1988 World Sieger Eiko vom Kirschental; his vision and insight have left an indelible imprint on the breed. His dogs were selected as the foundation breeding stock for the FIDELCO Guide Dog Foundation in Connecticut,USA and there has been Kirschental 'blood' somewhere in their breeding program almost continuously for the past 50 years.
We wish that we could have thanked him in person for our special dogs.
Morgan vom Kirschental (Dru)
Asterla vom Kirschental (Zeta)
Shania vom Haus Kirschental (Kaia)
Bryce vom Kirschental (Zane)
and out newest love and challenge,
Kaman vom Kirschental (Kona)
Our love and prayers to Marion and Matthias.

so very sad:( My first german shepherd as an adult was out of Kirschental lines / father used in the Fidelco program here in CT. He was the best all around balanced dog I've ever had the pleasure of sharing my life with.
