You are absolutely right, but RIGHT NOW these people and these dogs need help.
I´m pretty sure this accident will change their whole life and lifestyle, too.

I only hope that all of the people reading this thread and refusing to help don´t need help themselves in the future, and strangers are going to judge if you deserve help or not...

Suzie you have a big heart.

Unfortunately my life experiences cause me to remark on the plight of these strangers, (to me) in a skeptical vein. All I can deduce  is that there is a wrecked vehicle sitting in a lot somewhere. There may or may not have been 10 dogs, or was it 8 dogs to start? Did they even have a rental deposit on a new place? Unlikely. Alnd that isn't even the main reason why I don't give money to people who don't know how to mangage money, or their lives. They never seem to learn from their past, either. You know, I can't ever imagine a situation where I would actually encourage a stranger to solicit funds on my behalf on the internet. I would go to family, then real friends, and then even the bank to beg for a loan.

Except usually the reason they don't ask for a loan is because every one knows it would never be repaid. Been there, done that with a couple deadbeat relative, types. I know a little about where I'm coming from.

Hope you are right Suzie, and I'm wrong for the dogs sake.

Good points Bee. Check the pics of the van and trailer. If it was a roll-over wreck and jaws of life (as was told by op), then how come the van doesn't have any noticeable dents where they should be obvious...like the roof. The trailer doesn't have so much as a bent corner and the running light isn't even cracked...the crate isn't broken either and they break pretty easy, the stuff in the trailer looks like it was placed in it, not wrecked. The wind shield is broken but the van hood isn't even dented ???? That van and trailer don't look like anything that was in a wreck at all. JMO

I called local stores to try and purchase bags of dog food over the phone they could then pick up for immediate relief. No store would do it for fear the card info was stolen.

I did this as well. I called a Walmart in KY, located
in the greater Louisville area. I spoke with a CSM to
try and find a way to pre-purchase a couple bags of
dog food so that this couple could simply go to the
store and pick it up. It was next to impossible to do
so, other than to wire funds to them. It was at this
point that the CSM relayed the story of the woman
calling that store wanting to send her son in without
any ID to cash an out of state check. That woman
stated she had been in a rollover accident and had
a broken arm & leg, hence sending in her son.
Of course her request was denied. The reason this
CSM brought this to my attention was merely because
of the coincidental details. Too many things were too
similar-stuck in a hotel, rollover accident etc.
I merely relayed here what was told to me.

In any event, I agree with several other posters that
it's sad to see people have so many animals that they
cannot properly care for them when 'shit hits the fan',
so now they must rely on the generosity of other dog
people. How about they start selling some dogs to
raise some money? There have been a few people
that turned to this very board for 'fund raising' to get
them out of a shitty predicament, they have had multiple
dogs, and asked for 'help', then turned around later and
bred those same dogs-selling the offspring, or 'placed them'
(for a fee $$) after surgery etc. Oddly enough ,
these people have always been 'breeders'. They have
bred/sold puppies, in fact, not long after one of these
'charity cases' was on here begging for help for surgery
for her young male, this same person imported a couple
of DDR puppies laugh

If you are making such life altering changes, isn't it best
to 'trim the fat' so to speak before doing so? Instead of
looking for others to pay for dogs surgeries, moving etc?
Especially when you don't have any idea where you are
going?

We did donate the cost of one bag of dog food. Because
of the dogs. We are not willing to chance this being a for
real situation or not. So if they 'got us', they only got us
for a few bucks. I'd rather not think about dogs not eating.
As stated in one of my previous posts, the CSM at Walmart
did in fact tell me the various charities in KY were very easy
to contact and ask for help. The Humane Society would even
help with dog food.

Just one of the many things that confuse me is this, I thought
these people were located in Illinois? Now it seems they were
moving from Florida to Kentucky? Christ, there are so many
versions of this story it should be made into a movie.

WDs, that's an idea! But should it be a Comedy, drama, or Docu- drama? Or may science fiction?

Honestly, if any of the 'posters' here, are finding any "humor" in the situation these individuals are facing, shame on you....  .  I hope none of you ever find yourself in a compromised situation, whether it be from circumstance, bad decision or just bad luck and then have the fine sensibility of a bunch of individuals either ridiculing the situation, demeaning the loss of an animal (I mean really, post the pedigree...even if this happened to someone I disliked, I wouldn't have the poor taste to write that) and trashing the individual that is "attempting" to help the individuals.  I have seen posts with equally poor taste, it is incredibly easy to hide behind the mask of a user name and make smarmy comments about a bad situation.  Ultimately you have to live with yourselves.  It is one thing to suggest caution...always a good rule...To laugh, really???  To the two individuals that contacted me and then contacted the individuals involved, good for you to have the "fortitude" to actually check out the validity of the situation...To the neutral or postive posts, thank you for having some class...To the individuals that find this entertaining, take a look in the mirror...If you really feed off other people's trials and bad times, what are you, really???

by joanro on 31 July 2012 - 02:07

Can you explain how the van and trailer rolled over and don't have any dents? Really???

by joanro on 31 July 2012 - 12:07

Something is very weird....

by beetree on 31 July 2012 - 12:07

Absolutely post the pedigrees it would be easy proof and also if there was funny business involved it would be something verifiable, especiallly where an insurance company would be concerned, hypothetically of course. Acccording to "you" they should be well known already. Maybe that is part of the problem. Even more suspect is that this common knowledge is not forthcoming. No one likes to be scammed, it is that simple. This one hasn't been transparent or consistent, thus all the alarm bells.

Don't think you can shame me for being cautious, it is bizarre you even try that attitude considering where you are soliciting for funds. Scammers llike to take advantage of peoples' good manners and sympathetic hearts, they use that to keep them from asking the "hard" questions. And the fact that the "doubters" are being subjected to abuse when they speak a concern, is an even bigger telltale sign to close your checkbook.
