If you are asking for money, you should be prepared
to provide details.

What would it possibly hurt to say where in KY they are?
Or where the accident happened?
I'm missing something here.

by Aqua on 25 July 2012 - 13:07

This sort of tragic accident would have made the news in whichever locality it occurred. How about posting some links to the police log in a local paper, or the local TV station news? The name of the nearby town where the accident happened? A date?

Because, you know what? Before long, folks will search snopes for urban legends. It's not unreasonable for people to request credible third-party verification of facts when they're being asked for money.

I hardly think posting what city this accident occured in should be considered taboo.  I think it should have been mentioned in the very first post.  I have a feeling an accident like this, especially considering 2 dogs survived and then were killed by traffic would at least make the local news if not the regional.  So where is it?

Thank you for the dog food information, I will certainly pass that on.  As for the rest...my email rosettabarke@sbcglobal.net  I will provide the information about the accident and location if anyone would like to email me with ideas that might be useful to them.  I am nowhere near the Kentucky area, I have no ideas...This was an attempt.  I certainly understand the need for caution in today's society, I am obviously exercising a certain degree of caution myself.  That being said, you have my email, I be willing to have a phone conversation with anyone who might have some idea of resources that might be available.  I am hoping, that rather than digressing the way all these posts seem to, that some ideas, like the excellent dog food information, will be posted..Thank you.

I just don't get the whole mystery around this,
nor the need to be so cloak and dagger with
details?

Coming back and accusing people of being nasty
and cruel etc sure won't garner your friends much
support. Fact is, you posted on this board wanting
money and/or 'help'.
No real details were supplied
by you to show much 'proof' to the fact this even
happened. Just a vague story of a bad roll over, dogs
killed etc.

The accident you described is no little fender bender.
At the least it would have made the local news/paper.
So linking a published report would go a LONG way to
providing proof that it actually did happen.

Otherwise, for all anyone knows, you are trying to pull
a 'fast one' and using your friends as the cover story.
The more you try to point fingers and call names at
others that question you, the more suspicious you are
starting to appear.  Just sayin'

If you just came out with the details, I bet you that people
would open their wallets up, and possibly their homes too.

Being so cryptic only closes minds, wallets and doors.

Barkroz-You truly are going at this all the wrong way. The people on this forum are truly giving people. At the VERY LEAST, the needs of their dogs WOULD be met, IF you were to provide ANY lick, OF CREDIBLE info. No one cares what the owners have or have not done. THE DOGS HAVE DONE NOTHING. These people here WOULD feed the dogs. There are many churches and organizations that will help these people, with their immediate needs. Help for the dogs is NOT so important to say, county offices. You appear to not want to disclose any pertinent info here regarding even the slightest detail, only to contact and send to you, known by no one. It appears your intentions are good, BUT The road to hell is paved with good intentions. You might the best person in the world, I AM IN NO WAY SAYING ANYTHING ELSE. I DO NOT KNOW.,but if you seriously need help here, disclose the information. You already gave their names, it is not like anyone is going to look for them to bring about harm or misfortune to them. You started the quest for help, just give verifiable info, and I am sure people will do what they can to hhelp

In an attempt to take your words literally, the accident took place in Unadilla (sp) Georgia, near the border several weeks ago..They were enroute to relocate.  The van was liability only so no coverage for towing and the tow guy assisted with the two animals that expired...They are staying near Louisville, in a hotel with their dogs...Once again, and for amazement's sake, I have posted my email, I will give anyone who might actually want to assist them or suggest resources my phone number.  The police report number from the Georgia State Patrol is COOO120240.  I am not sure that giving out my email and requesting to speak off forum constitutes cloak and dagger, and Workingdogz, I have certainly agreed with your posts on previous topics.  If this additional information opens up any resources, great, otherwise please feel free to contact me.

when i read your initial plea for help, i was heartsick and friended you on FB immediately.  i shared your story on my FB & kept an eye on this thread.  i did a search because i was certain that something would come up.......accident photos, a news article by print or on tv.  nothing.  i got nothing.......except this thread on pdb.  seriously.  i was fully prepared to log into my paypal and send money, but when i could not find anything i began to question all of this.  i remembered that petra had posted in regards to finding something for rent near bowling green so i went back to that thread & discovered that her post took place approximately 1 wk after you claim that the accident happened.  she made no mention of an accident, losing dogs or anything of that nature ---- just that they were looking for something to rent.
i work very hard for my money, but i am not stingy with it.  i am very willing to help someone who is truly in need.  the problem, here, is that no one can verify your story.  if you come on to a public forum with a plea like this, you had better be able to provide proof in an equally public fashion.  people on this forum are generous, but we are also skeptical.  i am also friends with petra on FB  and she has not made any mention of an accident or losing dogs on her FB.  if something of this nature actually happened, i believe she would have mentioned it.

In response to the last post, I did this posting so that they would "not" have to deal with doing so.  I offered to do so.  Trust me, I am beginning to regret that.. If you want to confirm with petra, one, I just released the accident report, with her permission.  Two, you can PM her on facebook to confirm... Everybody, lets not kill the messenger here.  I live in Wisconsin, I care about their situation.  I am just trying to help...I have sent the little bit of money that I can send.  Unfortunately, I am not familiar enought with the area they are in to even begin to suggest resources...I have never posted a help plea for anyone, so maybe my technique is a little off, but I have tried to be forthcoming and am very open to talking personally to anyone, giving contact numbers etc.
