There are more photos, there are more facts, the entire story is available to those who ask. I certainly cannot blame anyone for not putting their story on the Internet for all to read.

The OP tried to do a nice thing FOR these people. What you and everyone else seem to fail to remember is the people involved in the accident have NOT asked publicly for help. In fact they didn't even ask me for help when I asked about the story. I listened and looked at photos and made my own judgement calls hearing the story straight from the source.

I am the one who asked to help them. The OP offered to help them (they were not aware it would have been done on the PDB)

The link for photos on the accident and the like we're also posted by someone trying to help, and the donation website itself was put together by someone who is also trying to help on their OWN free will.
Petra and Peter were not aware of it's existence until a few donations were made and the money was being sent. They were extremely thankful. I sent enough money for some dog food, others I know sent actual medication to help the dogs.

I didn't think the money would actually get up to the amount it has. That is wonderful that people felt that generous. But never once have Peter and Petra publicly asked for yours, or anyone else's help on this forum for money.
The money gathered was from people offering.

Photographs and stories are not owed to anyone on this forum. Why? So you can continue to laugh at their misfortune?
The people who have donated, the people who took the time to ask, do know the story.

Whether you personally, or anyone else on this forum believes they should own dogs, be in this situation etc. is an entirely different subject.
We all have opinions. But what good does it do to judge someone's situation based on a story with holes like Swiss cheese over an Internet board. You are right, there are holes in the story. But why should anyone tell the whole story to an internet board drooling over the next thing they can hound the misfortunate about?

I will reiterate one more time: Peter and Petra have NOT publicly asked for donations, and have not asked privately unless it was offered.

If you want to help, contact THEM directly and ask the story and you make the decision on what you want to do with your money.
Whether I was "duped" or not, these people have helped me out in the past. They have shown my dogs, they have given me honest unfiltered opinions that I can use to look at my dogs objectively, they have given me and my friends discounts where it wasn't even necessary. Peter saw me about to pay too much money for a sleeve at a show and helped me pick one out that was in my price range and worth the money I paid. They have given (both asking, and without asking for their help) without asking anything in return every single time I have met them.
I feel no remorse for sending my money. My heart is in the right place. And for the kindness I have received by complete strangers and the relationship I have built. I don't mind.

I am at peace with myself and I know how much they put into their dogs. I have no doubts where that money will be spent.

I would be more than happy to drive down there pick up 2 or 3 of the dogs and bring them here to live.  The poor dogs have no way to provide for themselves - HOWEVER the people do.  Get a job even if it is frying french fries at McDonalds, sell plasma, ask family for help - even if they are in Germany they can forward money to them.  Sell anything they do not need to surrvive.  And as hard as it may be sell a dog or two.  I too would e more willing to donate to the young lady going to school, she is trying to better her life and planning for the future.

Judy my question to you is, how do you know they are not doing that already? You do not have all of the facts, so you do not know what they are doing to keep their heads up at this moment. They are not children waiting for money to be thrown at them.

You should not assume when you do not know the whole story.

Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple. Dr. Suess
At the end of the day what anyone feels personally about the people and dogs involved is moot. You need only ask and answer one question. "What am I going to do?". If the answer is donate the lnk is provided. If the answer is to not donate, then there is that convenient "x" on the tab of your screen. But to sit like vultures and pick away at the layers and dissect every word stated all the while asking for 'real factual info' without even offering up so much as a first name for yourself is just hypocritical at best and being a terrible person at worst. I hope everyone here is proud of what we have become. I for one find no humor in this situation. Neither in the initial story nor the reaction of the members here.
