I would give this guy money.  At least I have a picture.  If nothing there is character and honesty in the photo.

Have a photo of this guy needing some cash too.  His dog and his cat too.

I'd toss all three of those in the bottom pic a couple bucks apiece in their cups. Love them pics, Live4:-)

Where's the op? Where's the beef?

Probably taking a baseball bat to the side of that van for a retake.

Crying laughing!!! Live4, they should have thought of that before they took the first ones. Molding hanging out the back door was the best they could come up with. No wonder they're in a jam....

I would have bought that dog trailer before they took it apart...

A few nuts and bolts and it'd be good as new, not a scratch on it! Might have to straighten the back door where it got leaned on, but heck, that's easy. Probably get it pretty cheap...maybe cost of another night in a cheap motel.LOL

The OP was unfamiliar with what exactly happened and tried to write a post based off of memory. Petra was removed from the vehicle through the windshield so you are right, no jaws of life. The dog trailer is bent at the frame and the roof destroyed and ripped off (hence the dogs escaping and running into traffic). This is obvious in the photographs supplied to people who took the time to ask. There are also photographs of the side of the vehicle, very obviously crushed.

I didn't realize we had so many insurance adjusters and collision experts on the forum, what a new untapped resource to mine. Thank you all for your expert opinions! We will be sure inform the insurance company on your behalf!

We did ask.  All we got were deffensive responses.  Finally got a link to web site with photos not adding up.

If they have 8 dogs left, and homeless, there priorities are a little scewed.

If the dogs are quality, its like someone begging for money while showing me a bank statement with 20 to 40k in it.  If the dogs have no monetary value, they should be adopted out.  They are not in a position to ask for anything right now.

If someone where to say, "dont they deserve to keep the foundation of there kennel?" No.

If they need help with a responsible business plan based on sound metrics I would be happy to help, for free.

I think by the time someone starts looking for
public donations, well, they have hit rock bottom
quite obviously.

Regardless of the fact they have 'liquid' assets,
the fact they have 'nothing' at this point says
something about where they have got to in life.
Maybe it is time for them to look hard in a mirror
and think about making some changes for the better?
If you are boxed into a corner and have no one to
really call for help? well, that has to tell you a thing
or two about your character.

The OP is not to blame in this, she is merely trying
to help someone who told her they were in need, so
don't be too hard on her. Her heart was/is in the right
place, and I don't think she realized the shit storm
her initial post would kick off.

Fact is, none of the facts make sense. Period. Swing it
how you want, the story has more holes than the swiss
cheese on my sandwich. That is not the OP's fault.
She wants to see the best in people, but I think she is
learning the hard way that not all is as it seems?

Don't fault the OP for having good old fashioned
mid-west heart and values

The photo's don't show a roll over, no way, no how.
If you follow the roofline of the van, there is no 'break'
in it. And really, the trailer doesn't look that bad either.
In fact, I could have snapped a pic of our trailer not
long ago and it looked similar, we had taken it apart to
replace the floor etc

They were in Illinois, then Florida, the accident happened
in Georgia? By the way, we did call GSP and gave them the
report number supplied by the OP , and after a few calls to
different barracks, we finally got to speak to someone in the
right geographic area of where the accident happened.

Not alot of details were given, which I understand, privacy etc.
The nice lady did confirm there was an accident, it did involve
a van and trailer. She could not confirm it was a roll over, nor
could she confirm the 'jaws of life' were used.  Medical was
refused. There was no mention of animals being killed, nor
was there mention of animals period. I asked very specific
questions, some were answered, some she didn't have an
answer for, and in some cases, there was no info to give.

There was no indication that the accident was severe, which
I would think the nice lady that answered the phone would
have confirmed had it happened as was first posted. There
was no record as to whether the vehicle involved was driven
away or impounded, towed etc.

I guess I just don't understand how they got from GA to
a hotel in KY having only one vehicle on it's last legs,
8 dogs and belongings?

Either way, we felt bad for animals that didn't ask to
be put into a sad situation like this, so yes, we chipped
in a little. Chumps we may be, but it wasn't a lot of $ to
us, so if we were 'had' so be it. Truth be told, the only
reason we did, is because we put faith in the OP-not the
people she was/is trying to help.

All this kind of stuff does, is make it harder for people
to open their wallets the next time. It's not wrong for
anyone on a public board to want more specific details.
