Carlin,
Have you read the "hips" thread?  Do you even understand why people are upset with Hans?  Please don't bring Jenni into this it has nothing to do with her.  If need be I can give you a couple of clues or draw you a map.

@slam -yes, I understand completely, and have read the thread. Did you read where I wrote "not picking a side" ? That means, whether or not I agree or disagree, it is.not relevant to the point. The point is simply that for a group of people who face similar challenges, among whom I do not believe there is one beyond reproach, they are awful quick to pull the trigger on someone. A lot of this stuff goes beyond what is necessary. Advice is welcome always, but kindly refrain from the bullying; it's really not becoming, and probably isn't going ti work out for you. Jenni's a big girl, she can take care of herself.

I wasn't bullying anyone, there is nothing to work out for me.  Sometimes people need to take sides and do what they think is right.  Bad things happen when good people stand by and watch.

Sure I can take care of myself, but why should I get dragged into a thread that has nothing to do with me just to do so? laugh

@ slam...I don't disagree with that. I am glad she had recourse and things worked out for her. It looks totally asinine when individuals are casually vilified here. In some cases, their livelihoods lye in the balance. From what little I have gleaned thus far, Hans provides wealth of information here, while other members, whose relative knowledge and experience fills a thimble, makes a.part time job out if lighting up the forum with mud slinging.

Jenni- couldn't help that you came to mind in the realm of personal vendetta's.

Spot on.

Agree, totally.   The serial bullies in particular, just irritate me no end.  As stated above, for some of them, the anonymity offered by the internet, allows them to indulge in obnoxious behavior, without any consequences.

Agreed.  Now what has happened is in the past, as far as I am concerned, and over and done with.  Time to move onto other things ?

Why not give the benefit of the doubt and simply take the current thread at face value ?

Carlin,

You bring up a good point.  You mention that with some breeders, "...their livelihoods lye in the balance..."  Such a true comment.  This also means that that person or persons should work hard to maintain that their image and reputation stay in tact.  How does one accomplish that?  By making sure that the business they run has a positive image.  1st rule of customer service...the customer is always right.  Listen, show empathy and find a solution.  Do your best to avoid bad press.  Don't make decisions which could effect your livelihood.

As you said Carlin, "...from what little I have gleaned thus far..."  You admit to not being around long enough to see a lot of things.  That same thimble that you mention seems to be the same cup that you hold in your hand. From your POV things seem harsh and I can certainly see that.  Sometimes they are and sometimes they are not.  There are many who have seen more than you have.  Sometimes you have to take time out to research and come up with your own conclusion.

Yes, Hans does provide a wealth of information but so do many others on this forum and others.  There are many who have a lot more knoledge than Hans that don't have the black cloud above them.  Just because someone has a lot of knowledge does it mean they really know a lot or you should dismiss actions that may have happened?  As it is always said on here, do your homework and as long as your happy with your decision then great.
