Hans, if you'd posted this link with a title that wasn't a slap in the face to anyone who'd ever received a dog with one or more serious structural issues and had to make heartbreaking decisions as a result, my view of your post would have been different.  If you'd confined your comments to an appreciation of how well the young lady in the video was doing in teaching the dog the skills he needs in his career as her service dog, my view of the post would be different. 

But you didn't.  Your post title mocks all those who purchased their dream puppy and then learned that the dog was destined to live it's life in unrelenting pain unless one of two options was chosen: end the dog's life (which is what would happen in most cases if the dog was returned to the breeder), or commit to the expenditure of thousands of dollars for medical intervention to address the problem.  You insinuated that the 'disappointment' one might feel over the fact that a dog's ears were weak was in the same league as that experienced by someone whose dream dog came with serious physical defects, exhorting the latter to 'look to this video' when their dog's misfortunes made them sad. 

Perhaps all of that was unintentional, and you are guilty only of choosing your words unthinkingly.  Sadly, I believe your dexterity with English is stellar enough that you knew *exactly* what knives would be turned in what wounds.  THAT disappoints me...but I expect that of our species, so no surprises there for me.

WRT to anonymity, I have nothing to sell, I don't breed or broker dogs, and I don't run any kind of business that would make it necessary or beneficial for me to hang my government name out in cyberspace for all and sundry to know.  When there is a specific need for someone to know the specifics, that info is provided to them privately, and there are many here who do know it.  My user name is the same for virtually every forum or venue I belong to, be it a site for dog owners, cell phone owners, Nissan Frontier truck owners, and so forth--so IMO, I'm far from anonymous just because I chose not to publicly use my government name.

so had crissy given her dog back to the breeder she would never have been able to live with herself because it would have been put to sleep.  So she didnt really have a choice? she cant just replace her dog knowing it will be happy and safe some place else in her eyes she only had one choice she was trapped.

I'm not against the help (use) of animals in handicapped persons. I have had a close experience with two friends of mine who give a small horse who had been mistreated  to a school of handicap children, the horse lives in a large park and now  is too happy. But there are cases that the animals are taken from their habitat and turned into slaves, such small monkies, etc.
When I read the end of the video I felt depressed And I would like people speak in the name of the puppy.
 I f you say that you show this video to people who want to give you back  the dog or dump him/her because he/her is not what they expected, in order  to think about , you may suggest them not to think  of  dumping their  puppy instead.

Ok let me add to this....     The woman in the video is named Myra. She is the owner of all4pawsdogtraining. i met Myra this past summer at a dog festival. Myra was in a wheelchair accompanied with 2 other people. Myra stopped me as she really loved the looks of my dog Jax.     Myra trains dogs from puppies to prepare them for service work. She loves German Shepherds but always came into contact with showlines who didn't have the nerve to perform service work. I spent 30+ minutes talking to her about Jax, where I got him from, his lines and temperament.    She was very impressed with all of this as well as Jax structure and how nice he waa despite all going around and he was only 1 yr old. I told Myra that I trained with Hans and it would be no issue at all to find a puppy with the temperament she needs.       Myra was concerned about the price as Hans puppies are $1800+750 for shipping. I told her that for what she is doing son't worry about price and we can get you a puppy at a reasonable price. She gave me her business card and we parted ways.       Later that day i called Hans and let him know. i saw it as a great way to at the very least be a PR move and at the most, help someone out. When i let Hans know, he asked me how much money was she willing to spend. I told him she couldn't afford his regular price and in response he said that he couldn't help as he didn't have any puppies at and discounted prices. He took her contact info anyways and said he would reach out to her.        The dog in question, is (if im not mistaken) as Hans said a dog someone gave to him. they bred it and then gave to Hans as a sort of thank you. Hans mentioned that he didn't want the dog as he already has too many and the ears didnt stand up.       It is nice to see that the dog is actually out and with someone doing something than just sitting. I think this whole thread is in poor taste by its creation. The only person who knows why they made it is Hans and everything else is speculation.       I dont believe that it was made as a feel good but rather a clean up on image after the Chrissy screw up. It is ashame that Myra is put out there like this as a image clean up.       I'm amazed at this especially given Hans negative views on handicapped people. As he has mentioned, handicapped people are a pain to sell dogs to. 9/10 want someone to kiss their ass or want a handout and use their handicap as a crutch.Now Hans mentions there are "good" handicapped people who do things on their own and dont always look for handouts but that is a minority....only 10% in his dealings.       Looking back now, I wosh I would have given her the name of a few breeders who could have given her a puppy that would be used to help someone. A puppy who isn't given away because they don't do have a value due to birth defects but rather a dog who could be sold fortop price but instead given for a worthy cause. If there are spelling mistakes please forgive me as i typed all this on my phone.

Great...more breeder on breeder hate crime. I would think that if anyone would understand the catch 22's a dog breeder may run into, it would be another dog breeder. I'm not picking a side, just amazed at all the love around here lately for Hans and Jenni :-) . Wonder who the next victim shall be...
