Jackie, I am so very sorry for your loss.  I am so glad you had this time to spend together.  Kali was beautiful and I know how much your are hurting.  I hope that soon your beautiful memories of her will give you comfort.

Damn it. I'm so sorry to learn that she's gone on ahead of you and Carl so soon, Jackie. I'd been holding out hope that the very strangeness of what she was fighting against would not only defy clear definition, but also defy predicted outcomes as well, and she'd have more time with you. So many losses this month...I will be glad to shut the door behind February, and look toward spring. No more cone collars for you, Kali, just pure freedom from age and illness as you wait for your loved ones to join you in their time while you continue to watch over them from your new perch. My sincere sympathies to you, Jackie, and to Carl and all who knew and loved your Kali. Please take care of yourselves, even as you grieve for her; she would not have you neglecting your own health in your sorrow.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words. I cannot express how badly I miss her. I know she is in a much better place, & my tears are only for ourselves. Still, I can't keep myself from looking for her soft, beautiful eyes to meet mine.
