If you offer a reward be weiry of those who may bring him forward. I heard of folks stealing dogs (not in your area), wait for the reward to be posted then bring the dog to the owner and say that they found your dog and collect $$$. Sneaky but it happens. Good luck.

Perhaps a search dog. You may have read that last week an untrained search dog in northern California discovered the remains of a murder victim. Believe it or not, there is a group of dog search trackers in the San Francisco area who have achieved some success in locating missing dogs. Might be worth exploring.
