i think the only reason the op cares about the way his dog pisses is because he thinks maybe his dog is not the dominant/confidant dog he thinks it is because of the way it pees? But the way he made it sound, he made it sound like he only cared about the way his dog pee'd because of how others look at his dog makes him feel ashamed? Which is why everyone is making fun of him no oen gives a crap about a dog actions all they care about is how a dog performs. Maybe the Op didnt say what he wanted the right way. HOpefully he posts again and just clears himself up. We all get insecure about our dogs if we are new to gsds and have no clue what is going on. Jdawg please post again! :)

What you could do to solve the problem is to tie a string around the leg you want him to raise and then when he pees you pull on the string and that way he will learn to raise his leg. I had to do this with one of my own dogs. Plan to write a book about my experiences, with trainings dogs to pee on trees an bushed and fire hydrants as welll

give him some time..he will figure it out ...my female lifts her leg up when marking...you don't see me complaining about it...I think there was even a thread on here about that...

Jenni78 - of course I get my confidence from my dog, doesn't everyone. When my dogs don't bark big and "manly", I get afraid they may be sissies, when they don't hit the decoy hard, I'm afraid they may be getting soft, we won't even go into how they pee. It's so difficult when you get your confidence from your dogs hahahahaha
