This is the most stupid statement i have heard. Now you want better dogs stop looking towards fucking europe and start doing it yourself.there are lot of godd dogs in north America just not enough good sport clubs and trainer and handlers.
As a wise man once said there is more politics in North America and less good trainers and not enough team work. do you knowhow many shutzhund clubs there are in germany and do you know what the reason is and i can assure you that it is not because they have better dogs. have a nice one.

Every dog has a purpose and every dogs purpose is not to do shutzhund and french ring and whatever other ring you want to think about anyone who thinks that,is a fucking idiot and i do not really care if you are a european idiot or An American idiot .You are an idiot.Have a nice one.

GARD,
Good thought provoking post.  Some times we have to make decisions on what is best, not what FEELS best.  Sometimes we give in to a bond we have with a dog, but it is critical for me to be honest with myself as to why I am keeping this dog or getting rid of him.  Way too many variables, but "know thy self".  GARD, I do not want to respond to the Europe vs. US and training etc.

It is important to understand  how we evaluate, make judgements, and decisions based on emotions, logic, or a combo of both.  Way, way, way too many in the US IMO base everything on emotional feelings, which often actually do more damage to the dog in the long run.  I live between two people that love their dogs,( loves definition is often misunderstood).  They spoil their dogs wrotten.  They live on the couch, are so over wieght they can hardly move (one is a female Golden weighing in at 110 lbs with severe hip displasia).  They do no excersize, do not know the game of fetch, cannot swim!!! but boy how they are loved.  CRAP, CRAP and CRAP.

As far as they are conserned, I am abusive, too hard on mine because they must obey me.  They are taken out to run regularly.  They sleep in the garage, (one of my neighbors has a fit over this and will actually try to get them out of this barbarak treatment) until I had all of my door locks changed as he had had a key for emergencies.  They only get to eat animal food, not table scraps, with little treats durning the day.  I have been routinely been called abusive to them because when it is cold outside or any other discomfort, they have been taught to deal with it.  So, it gets down to perceptions and priorities.

Dogs first and formost are to serve mankind IMO.  We get all emotional and let all common sense flee when we start talking about culling or putting a dog down.  Sunsilver, why is it that so many always make this jump from parting with a dog to killing him, abandoning him, and every unethical thing we can think of?  I do not see this as the norm, yet, this is the way most folks think.  This type of thinking is what is giving the PETA and AR groups all the power they need.  What I do see often is when a dog has lived past his breeding years he/she may be sold to a good home for next to nothing, so he/she may live the rest of their life in ease.

I went on too long.  Good day
