my dogs are great, i can take the raw food right from there mouths.
they know i am the boss, but what is really funny is my 10 year old can take it from them with no problems at all.
it has alot to do with who the boss is and i would never tollerate that kind of behavior.
you also cant be afraid of them cause then they will know.
yes there are alot of agressive dogs out there.

I agree, that sharpness can also be desireable.  I just don't want the impression left that growling during feeding is a sign of bad temperament.  There are certain character aspects that should be allowed to be retained in the breed, that are often popularly thought to be avoided if possible.  When in actuality, better handling can alleviate most concerns, and in some cases benefit from tolerance of certain character traits, rather than changing the breed to fit the people who are joining it.  I've witnessed dogs with complete courage, who have not enough aggression, and that too, can present its problems.

Ok guys, don't make a simple thing so complicated.it is a very natural behaviour, that is how animals in the wild communicate to protect their food period.it is the simplest thing to teach a puppy how trust you.so don't make it sound like you are trying to control a beast here.it is just a puppy and you do not have to be an idiot about it to teach the puppy how to trust you. some people here already given you a great advice.for example Steve1.and don't worry yourself about Kosse Hassing,he is got more experience than everybody put togather here.have a nice one.

nothing complicated held , just a different point of view about different caractertraits in gsd , nothing more

obviously you are a tiekerhook fan , so I leave the worrying about koos to you ,cause I dont

It has nothing to do with being any one's fan i am just simply stating facts that you can not do same as he does.you would not know how to deal with the kind of hard dogs he is know to have bread.it is ok to have a point of when you have something intelligent to say ,otherwise it is just shit. have a nice one.
