Why is everyone humoring a moron? If he is purposely breeding dogs that are outside of the German Shepherd standard, he obviously doesn't give a shit about the breed. Also, most people with half a brain and working eyes wouldn't buy a dog from him, especially when there are legitimate breeders with real German Shepherds that aren't busted (no offense Shtal, but your giant 10 month old ain't that great). This guy is probably out of the country, and if not his English  grammar indicates that he never graduated from kindergarten. Let him fuck up the German Shepherds in his country, and hopefully we'll tighten the fuck out of the immigration laws in ours.

I thought about breeding my female.  When I actually think it through to do it right I realized that it's a serious commitment that takes alot of time, money and expertise. Looking at the setup Shtal has I would think that he/she is deficient of the proper facilities, equipment and stock.  Not to mention the health-care side of the operation like vet costs.  I've observed a few breeding programs here in the Northeast US and breeding dogs is a full time job sometimes 24 hours a day.  So I would encourage Shtal to rethink his methods.

I'm new to this forum and an excited new member to the German Shepherd community.  I respect everyones opinion but I think some of the references and language used in previous responses is unproductive.  It was good that Shtal felt the freedom to communicate his intent which enable all of us to give our, some expert and professional, opinions.  I think we don't want to discourage all the Shtal's out there from posting because we need to continue to educate responsible GSD ownership.

Sincerely

Personally, I prefer females in the 60-70# range. Males 80-95.

You have a valid point, but in this instance I think it's people's frustration coming to the fore.  The original poster is either refusing to acknowledge people's arguments, or attacking them.  And not because they weren't diplomatically couched, but because he's determined to only see support for his way of thinking. I suspect from some of the responses that others knew this would be his reaction, and I'll know better than to waste any electrons on attempting discussion in the future.  Education isn't possible where ignorance is willful and deliberate.

Shtal,
Can you get a stacked picture of your oversized male?

Good points Jackal and thanks for bringing them up.

No worries Turk.  I'm here for two reasons (1) to discuss a topic I love and (2) to hopefully learn something so I can improve the quality of life for my own dog(s) (including those in the future) and my own quality of life with them.

You're absolutely correct that people shouldn't be ripping on people who post from genuine ignorance, and who just want to learn.  Judging from the fact that the original poster has erased every post in this thread I'd say he's not interested in learning, though.

Jackal, your dog's expression just cracks me up! I'm guessing that's why it's your avatar!
