Cesna

by Cesna on 25 October 2011 - 20:10

I won't get in to an arguement... I bought the dog for the motherline, powerful movement and ability to work...  It was a last minute decision to enter the dog, and I am glad that I did.  My posting here will end.  Congrats to everyone!

IMHO.....
I think there were several "mistakes" made by the helpers this year....but there are unintentional mistakes made by helpers all the time.
I will not say that any mistakes were deliberate because I know the helpers and have respect for them as well.  I think the weather had some baring on the "footing" for the helpers, which may have been the direct cause of some of the problems.
I watched only some of the bite-work, as I was already upset with the non passing of a dog that we brought with us.  I did not count "stick hits" on the dogs, I feel no need to.....it is pretty easy to count & visualize to 2.

In any venue there are complaints....we all wish this sport was played more fairly.
Yes....POLITICS & GREED will reap it's ugly head and TRY to destroy us all.......we can't let it happen.
Only by breeding better, training harder, and exhibiting more....can we make a difference in this or any other dog sport.  After all......ignorance is the only thing that is blind.
In the end...the only ones being fooled....are the political, greed motivated fools themselves......after all.....what is a piece of metal, plastic coated, large standing cup worth?? $$$  Since many of enthusiasts cannot afford to buy one.....we will all have to work even harder to earn one......at that time, and only that time is it "priceless".
Again...this is only my opinion.....it is not meant to offend others.....but it is what keeps us (me) going year after year.
Respectfully.

I agree with Robin.  How much pride can one feel when they know (and everyone else knows ) they didn't deserve the title or placement?  It must be a pretty hollow victory.
(however, if it means big dollars in the future, maybe one just fills the hollowness with $$$  )

To Cesna,  by bowing out, it makes it appear that what you said isn't true, and that Marco is correct.  I don't think it is arguing to show proof.

We really have to quit worrying about offending others by telling the truth.  If they are offended, then they are breeding for the wrong reasons.   If you really think your dog is deserving of an award (wether it received one or not) than you will not care what the peanut gallery thinks.

I love my dogs.  I am not bowing out to anyone, however, it is not worth the arguement.  I know what I saw in the bitework and I am proud of my dog(s).  If I am able to upload my video of the bitework, I will post this without hesitation.  I have every showcard of Harry..He is accomplished and has competed against many top dogs on a very competitive scale...

There were many outstanding dogs in the bitework.  Dogs are living beings, they are not robots.  They will make mistakes just as we humans do.  I do not go to these shows to look for every fault or for every mistake...I go to compete as a sportsman, and as a person who loves the breed.

Cesna, you may very well be right, it appears that way, that is all. :)

Thanks NorthSeiger, the video is saying private.

First and foremost to Carlos and all who are reading this , i have great respect for you and your kennel and you are a friend to all. Also thank you for your honest opinion coming from someone who is well respected it should carry much weight and i think an explanation is in order as to why i will not publish my true identity like most of you- i think it is fairly obvious but as a 9yr member of WDA who has many friends that may have been angered by my post i wish to in some cases stay anonymous and not lose friends in the WDA hierarchy and just as important do wish to face reprisals by the powerful people who rule this organization. To Cessna i will not engage in a back and forth anymore but feel compelled to call you on one more item that you responded in regards to Harry if the comment was accurate about "entering him at the last minute " then why was Dietmar touting him for VA several different places WELL BEFORE THE DEADLINE FOR NASS - i can provide times and places if you like and privately and not so he said " Harry will make VA" it is that kind of BS that rubs many the wrong way. Was the picture you posted of Bitework Practice ? Or the actual Protection Service? Last i was not commenting on the lack of stick hits on the long bite as my vantage point would not allow me to see clearly.

Ok Marko... That is fair.  I never heard whether or not the dog would make VA..  I only wanted the dog as Harry is replacing a former male of mine that was from a similar bloodline (not Ollright vom Thermodos, who is a cousin to Harry and totally different 'type' of dog).  The date of transfer was a merely three days prior to the deadline

Making VA is not the end all, solve all.... for me as there are many super V-dogs... The character and type are what matter most...

Doesn't look like he received any stick hits to me??
