PS Great idea about regional meetings, Aileen had basically offered to co ordinate the Scottish clubs, I am sure others would help too. We really must show a united front.

This is in a 'Letter of Understanding between the FCI and the KC'
www.fci.be/uploaded_files/Accord%20Kennel%20Club,%20May%202009_2pages.pdf
see section 3 needless to say I can not find this document on the KC site, they probably do not want us to be aware of it.

Hi Pam... so whilst the KC were "in talks" with the GSDP, they were busy elsewhere closing a few doors... proof, if any were needed, that it was only EVER lip service on their part.

Yes what annoyed me most was it was 2months after I imported the Chodsky which any pups were going to be registered with the CMKU, I am still looking for a loophole any suggestions welcome.
My first thought when I saw this letter earlier last year was the fiasco with the talks between various parties and the KC was the GSD, as also elsewhere we had been discusing registering Kennel names with the FCI rather than the KC.

Mackenzie, I think Aileen has been around long enough to know how to organise much to do with our breed. PDB is NOT the only means of communication, indeed, it may be a good idea to say less on here!
There are people who stay off PDB because of the lack of basic civility from some, it doesn't mean they're not busy!

I consider my Plan B Document to be a POSITIVE STEP in the right direction and the Meetings suggest are not JUST TALK, they are another positive step forward.
A breakaway DOES INCORPORATE MORE THAN SHOWING DOGS, a lot of Clubs train for more than just the Show Ring and some of these Clubs will not want to stay with the KC under their bully boy tactics. There are Schutzhund and all it entails and Obedience and Tracking in some Clubs and they will automatically bring that with them.
The British Sieger now requires that the Adult Dogs/Bitches have a Good Citizens Test for entry to these Classes and anyone who has done or is training for that can easily adapt these tests into their Club. We do not need the KC to show us how it is done.
Many, many enthusiasts have so much to offer and this time I think the steps forward will be bigger than you imagine, I am sure there will be no BACK TRACKING this time.
As I said if any Club wants to stay with the KC then so be it, it is their choice and it is the choice of the owners of GSDs to make their own choice also.
There is absolutely no reason that many could not keep their dogs registered with the KC, but still join a New System - what can they do to stop us being in both boats? If you join the New Club/System the information registered and gained by that system does not have to be disclosed to the Kennel Club, they have no right to ask for it and as they will no longer be issuing Licences to the New Club/System they have no need to know the details.
Everyone who has a dog registered with the KC can leave it as it is as this is all it is A REGISTRATION SYSTEM. No one has to be forced to do anything they do not want to, but it is everyone's RIGHT TO HAVE A CHOICE in what way they go.
As has been said many times - WE CAN HAVE OUR CAKE AND EAT IT. What is to stop any owner etc taking part in any KC Show if their dog is registered, they can tow the line at these Shows if they want, but I don't see them wanting to attend any KC Events anyway.
Regards
Aileen
