Bringing in a Judge from other countries to judge our qualifier will only work if every other country does the same thing. That's never going to happen.

What a shame that years of hard work is defined by politics.

Booboo,

Have you ever trained and/or trialed in IPO/SchH?

Your opinions seem all over the place. In one post you comment that SchH was designed to be a pass/fail breeding test and in another you suggest that judges should judge the same in a club, regional and national event.

I see club trials as trials which test the dog (sometimes the dog passes in spite of the handler).  Regional and National events are competitions and the judging should take into account the handlers abilities as well as the dogs.

People do SchH/IPO for many reasons. I enjoy training and working with my dogs. I HATE trialing and do it only as few times as necessary. Others love the challenge of trialing.

I don't see why SchH/IPO can't be both a breed test and a sport for those who want to test their skills.

The hard work and the reward is the dogs .. IPO is just a game.  When winning becomes the goal then people will find a way to win.  As far as I know the dogs just want our love and attention so winning for them is something entirely different from the human version of winning.  Looks like the USCA will get their all USCA WUSV team .. congratulations on winning??

If IPO is just a game, why dont you play? Raleigh SCHH Association and OG Carolina are right at your door!

Elkoorr .. At the moment I am more interested in seeing how this little passion play ends at the qualifier.  I don't know which judge has been low-balling the WDA participants .. could be the WDA judge for all I know.  Since O'kane and Diehl got positive points from the low scoring judge I have my ideas but it will be interesting to hear "the rest of the story" as they say.  I have no problem with high scores as if the performance meets the standard it should get 100.  The judges job is to evaluate the performance versus the standard the exact same way every time.  Judges using another standard than normal at high level competitions is not new .. happens also at the BSP and WUSV which is why some competitors despite having an excellent performance score 10 points lower than normal at the WUSV and BSP.  Any standard is unfair if not applied uniformly.  As far a s IPO goes in the USA it is nothing.  Most Americans recognize the AKC as the only dog organization and Westminster as the only dog show they have heard of.  Which team wins the WUSV World Championship in 2013 will not matter in the slightest to the vast majority of dog owners and breeders in the USA.  Include me in the group that doesn't care which team wins but I am interested in the bloodlines and dogs participating in an academic sense.  Always good to see if some new bloodlines are coming to the front and how the breeding was done to get there.

So, booboo, all what you are waiting for is the result of what bloodline supplies the supreme GSD based on a sport that you call a game? And on which judge was corrupt at judging this game show? You are twisting and bending your remarks to support your argumentation based to fit your own agenda. The clubs probably wouldnt accept your company as you drag everyone through the mud that is working so hard and with passion to achieve recognition for that very dog-handler team they are.

But here we go.... We are hosting the SE Regional Conformation show in mid September in Mt.Ulla by Mooresville. Not even a 3 hour drive for you. Will I see you there with your dogs? We even have an SV judge! And to top it, I will let you handle my male in the ring. I hope you can run.
