For the best chance of a better result, only the best 5 performing dogs should represent the country.  It only makes sense, no?

WITHOUT DOUBT    - so why is ther doubt  that it will happen, now that Clemens Lux has written for it to be so.   Mo.

My guess is they'll be scratching their heads while working out a way to get around a joint selection trial with GSDL WDG, why? because it won't be so damn EASY to be selected - too much competition for them!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it any wonder some of our most experienced Handler teams are just not interested in competing for selection to world events, When a certain few from BAGSD VTD/VPG don't even have to try - it's a joke!!!!  and demoralising to those that train bloody hard to make the team!!!

If I were in the position to own and work top working dogs, (I wish) and I knew that others with far lower marks could also go through because they had the right to, devoid of their scores, I would feel demoralised too.
However, if I knew that there had been a letter from Clemens Lux that stated categorically the best of the best - then I would fight and fight to get it that way,

Devoid of dogs - in any sport or discipline at all  THE BEST GO THROUGH not a selection of best and a majority number of others.   What on earth must Europe be thinking of us?  two teams because thats the way we run things, rather than choose our very best workers to get out there and compete.

BAGSD on this occasion should meet with the GSDL and have a joint deciding trial.  They should keep their chins up and have some dignity and be happy that the best went through - who knows it could be them if their dog has a good day,   They should then have the interest to go to the Worlds and cheer on the UK team.

Only when this has happened, will we EVER get things right in the UK and stop being pitied by the rest of the world for our daft attitude.  This is my opinion as some-one who knows very little about working a dog in this type of competition, but before anyone says why are you poking in your oar, its because common sense tells anyone even not involved in  dogs that BEST COMPETE and GOOD WILL SHOULD PREVAIL among the others that are trying for best.... and another time, with good will, may be there themselves.  They can then open up their little closed world, and go to the best training grounds and train with the people that were good enough to go to the worlds, and then get their training grounds to host, and unite, and oh dear - it could go on, but its all so elementary whether you own dogs or not.
This is a thought for everyone.   Do the folks that want to compete whether they have the top marks or not  support a football team?    How would they feel about the manager of that team sending substitutes to a big important match, because it was nice for them to go.        Mo.

Hi BAGSD VPG
Any response to WUSV directive  re - joint selection trials  for WUSV trials
Team selection and arrangements for WUSV 2010 need  to be  agreed and sorted soon ,venue ,judges ,helpers ,etc ,lets not let it go into school  holiday time , with excuses that the timescale is too short to get it all sorted
We need a UK team selected from the best  dog and handler teams  with a date set in the near future
Those selected also i would guess will need time to arrange time off work ,travel etc
We are all waiting

The GSD league should initiate joint discussions on the WUSV directive - they should NOT wait for BAGSD.

In the event that BAGSD stonewall or prevaricate the GSD league should take it up with the WUSV as a matter of urgency and of the utmost seriousness.

A GSD League WDG detailed "file" should be immediately prepared on the BAGSD & BAGSD-VPG, I am certain it will be required, and very soon.
