I don't think it would take much for there to be more Bandit pups than Bomber pups in the US--I doubt if there are 25 Bomber pups in the US. (I haven't seen many imported litters from him--just a few, and imported individual dogs.)

I really haven't seen that much prevalence of Bomber/Bandit breeding pedigrees just yet--maybe we will soon. Right now, I think there's a lot more Ellute progeny in the US than Bomber. I do think Tom is going to be the next bottleneck in the working lines--he seems to be the preferred sire going back to Orry vh Antverpa.

I'd like to know what dogs that Bomber has sired have been shown in the higher trials? I know he's a v-rated black male with a good looking pedigree. He, himself, was not in the big trials and his offspring are old enough to be making a name for themselves. For $1200 stud fee you can breed to a 2x national chap & WUSV participant. What is it that he's produced that makes him worth the fee?

So as I try to learn this breeding thing like I know with horses is this a dog a lot of people would breed with?  I sense some vibes each way saying he got his b rating in a small show but them others really like him.

"Show us some Bandit progeny withOUT the bitch head, if you please."

I think that answered a few questions...lol Great looking bunch there Molly.

Nice representation Molly, just one question to ask,
since this thread is actually about Bomber, why not start
thread about Bandit?

Oh, my bad, this thread was more about someone trying
to find out something deep, dark & nefarious about the
owner of Bomber. Roll eyes

As for price of stud fee-seriously? People are questioning
the price of breeding to Bomber? Too much for you? Then
don't worry about it, find another dog to breed to
.

Hell, people advertise puppies all day long on here for $1k and
up, and the sires/dams to these puppies are not OFA/'a' stamped,
not titled, shit, sometimes they are not even registered!

For those that question the 'worth' behind Bomber and what makes
him 'so special', I guess one should ask all the Germans that bred
to the dog when he was a mere SchH1! They have the choice of the
whole country of very good dogs to use, but Bomber's dance card
was always full.

I personally don't care if Parrish likes to wear high heels and moon people
when he walks his dogs, he has nothing to prove to anyone,
he owns Bomber, ergo he will determine stud fee and if you can use
his male for your bitch Teeth Smile  If you don't think the dog is priced fairly,
then by all means find another male to use!

You either want to breed to the dog, or you don't.
If you are using 'popularity' as a criteria to select a stud dog for your
bitch, you should perhaps just considering spaying your female.

Plenty of people don't care for Mike D, Gary H, Wallace, heck, even
Molly has her detractors, but their dogs get breedings. You are not
going to Prom or even the Homecoming with the stud dog owner.

They probably won't even take you for dinner!!Omg Smile

You are ideally trying to get your bitch bred to the male that best
compliments and compensates her. You are also ideally using a
male that is a proven producer of good quality healthy animals
with apptitude to work in some capacity.

Now, if you are looking for the all important end of line payout,
well then by all means go to the flavor of the week! Just cross
your fingers that the same dog is still in favor when the pups
hit the ground!  But wait, everyone says breeding dogs doesn't
ever make a profit Teeth Smile   It must, or those jackass know it all's
that breed dogs without any health testing at the bare minimum
that sell their puppies for 1K + would not be doing it!

Happens EVERY time.  We can never discuss Curly, without bringing up Larry and Moe.  Show us some Bandit progeny withOUT the bitch head, if you please.

Seriously daryl? Bandit is producing nicely with a variety of bitches,
but you would have to leave your rock jumping training area to know that
.
It's easier to sit back and criticize someone who adheres to some set
standard for breeding than to actually bother to even OFA your dogs isn't it?

Now, I have to go finish my damn Christmas shopping.
Merry Christmas to allAngry

Workingdogz your assumption about the cost of the stud fee is way off base. And you know what they say when you assume? As a matter of fact I'm paying that exact amount to the stud I alluded to next month. So it's not the money.

Whenever someone asks about breeding to Bomber, the only response I have ever heard is exactly what.you stated. Verbatim. Just because some big kennels bred to him isn't enough. Did the breedings work? That's the question. With these big named kennels breeding to him you'd think after all this time someone would be able to point to one dog. Again my question is a legitimate one. I like his pedigree and had.considered using him. So I'd like to see what he's producing to make me want to use him.

Yes, there are some females that have compensated him well.  Congratulations to the second most overbred dog of our time.  Another thread is a great idea, where you can discuss the other questions that were summarily ignored.  One ALL his own, for once.  If discussion about Bandit ceases to shadow all discussions about Bomber, perhaps he'll ceace to live in the shadow of Bomber.

Thinking about breeding my femalle to Bomber....Chiki ze Svobodného Dvora but still trying to determine if this would be a good breeding genetically simply Chiki has over the top drives and i have heard Bomber does pass his traits over to his progeny. For those that that know the good matches can they chime in? I have heard Gustav is the person that would know best....thoughts?

That's an awful lot of Tom and some pretty close linebreeding on Vito--what do you hope to gain? Won't you just get more of the same--and maybe too much, at that.

Personally, I'd find a stud dog that has no Orry and would seek to strengthen any areas where your female may be less than excellent.
