Sometimes people need to take sides and do what they think is right.  Bad things happen when good people stand by and watch.   Agreed.  Now what has happened is in the past, as far as I am concerned, and over and done with.  Time to move onto other things ? Why not give the benefit of the doubt and simply take the current thread at face value ?

I agree that sometimes you shouldn't hold onto the past but this is a ....business.  Eevrything you do and how to treat people is a reflection on you and your "business".  As a customer you should be finding out all the negative and positive reviews before deciding to do business.

When you apply for a job, your past is taken into consideration.  Same as when you ask for a loan, go to court, seek a promotion, etc.  Nothing changes when it comes to a business.  When people normally give the "benefit of the doubt" they see 1 or 2 incidents as a isolated incident and not the normal and is pretty much "out of character".  There is a point where you lose benefit of the doubt and everything else.

Is is up to you to decide where that line is drawn.  Everyone has their own measuring stick.

@Carlin and aakay,  a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. 

Hans does not spread his knowledge freely as others here do.  He does it to purely market himself, his breeding, his relationship with Jiri and Jinopo and his importing.  Do not ever confuse that.  How many threads has he promoted the fact that he is saving the czech lines?  Unfortunately, nothing in life is free with him.  

@Carlin, do not drag others into a thread that has nothing to do with them.

WOW WOW WOW. Surprised when I read some of the posts. Whatever Hans's purpose, I rather enjoyed the vid. I will say though that if I gave a pup to someone as a kind gesture and they sold the dog to someone else .... what a slap in the face that would be. That would pretty much end my relationship with the person. And although Im a HUGE stickler on ears, why place the dog for an ear only issue? That struck me odd.

I wont comment on Hans. Ive had my own issues with him. I sure hope that the $750.00 he charges for shipping is from the Czech because if not another WOW what a rip off!

Jim, never for one moment have I believed that hans is either the savior of the Czech border patrol, or even just a kind soul, forthcoming with his knowledge and experience out if the goodness of his heart. He runs a business. The difficult part of this business is that you deal in living things where the ethics involve extremely fine lines. Everyone interprets those lines a bit differently. I shudder to think of the loss of the wealth of wisdom and resources lost here because reputable people will not put their reputation at risk because some are so careless and reckless as to essential attempt to destroy another based on what amounts to little more than hearsay. As far as "dragging people in", what I have to say is not about a single person or thread; this cancer seems to permeate the majority of talk around here. I don't point fingers, and respect the knowledge of tenured members here to weigh in very much on the meat of the issues so feel free to knock off the boy scout routine.

 Many speaking out here and elsewhere have a dog, or know someone that does from this breeder. 

What good does wisdom and resources do, if the actions from such produce subpar animals at exorbitant prices?

Don't forget, pretty much all of us, sang praises at one time, however, even idiots get it sooner or later. Sooner then self proclaimed genius's.

 

whew....still at it hey:-) Hans bought it on HIMSELF....then the old bully crap creeps in...He's a big boy...sometimes your mouth gets you in trouble...oh well. Most of you people take things much too seriously:-) carry on!

Question: why are dog brokers even necessary in this breed? Seems to me that a lot of heartache and money could be saved by GSD buyers in the US if we learned how to breed or how to find our own dogs? How long do breeders in the US need to import dogs before they are able to breed their own good dogs? 

Complaining about being ripped off by a broker is getting to be old news, yet some still keep going back for more. Duh.................anyone wanna buy a bridge?

Just a side note on the desirability of knowledge and what it means when it comes to ethics regarding breeding and selling dogs. Carlin, does the name Janice Bartmess mean anything to you?

Talk about jumping off the deep end. There was never an insinuation that accomplishment was license; if that's what you thought, you miss my point entirely.
