Red Sable

Hi Storm,  I just wanted to mention (as I am a puppy buyer like yourself)  price of a dog does not determine its quality, not at all.  So, find a good breeder that is honest and that you can trust, look at the parents, if you like what you see, ask about the temperament, better yet, go and see the dog work before you make your decision.

All, well not all, but many breeders say their dogs are the best and put a fancy price tag on it.

I've also found that a Schutzhund title does not mean it is the end all or be all either, so shop wisely.

All the best in finding a great GSD.

:)

Gee, Molly, I guess I should go back and take Bandit's pic out of the thread that was posted over a year ago called "Dogs that Really 2Catch Your Eye." Might be a problem, though, because I wasn't the only one who posted his picture (along with his brother, Bomber.) indecision

Storm, I don't think Hans will have any problem picking a pup to meet your needs. He told me he has trained and placed some of his dogs as medical service dogs in the past, so some of them have the softer temperament and lower drive that would be needed for such a job.

I've also heard very good things about Carmspack here in Ontario. The lady I learned tracking from had several of their dogs, and spoke really highly of their kennel.

Good luck in your search!

Storm, you might also want to check out Dutch Hill Kennels.  They are in Canada and built on the old Trommel lines. They breed not only working dogs, but also Obedeince and conformation. Great temperaments.

There are several great breeders of working dogs in Canada and some near you. There are a few in ring around there that have very good working dogs and the parents are all titled and hips certified Many have some Czech lines as well. I do not think you need to look far to get a good dog.

The 5th dog pictured is Pardal z Jirkova Dvora.

Jipo-Me kennel works with Alpinek9/Jinopo kennels.  Jipo-Me is actually owned by someone else but they work in conjunction with Jinopo/AlpineK9. (hence so many Jipo-Me dogs)  AlpineK9 & Jinopo are partners.

Hi Ruger1, the picture of the 5th dog down is Pardal z Jikova dvora - http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=699375
He is a beautiful looking dog, but I love the look of most of their studs. Alphine K9 is in partnership with Jinop kennels in Czech - http://www.jinopo.cz/main.php?lg=en
If you like a dog for sale / puppy listed you can purchase through Hans.

Storm266, good luck in your search for a quality working line GSD puppy. If you choose to go with Alphine K9 he does have litters gear more for what your looking for in a puppy.
One of my dogs we purchased from Jipo Kennel through Hans was for my husband to handle. He wanted a dog that can easily behandle, go to work with him & effectually be certified as a service dog.
My husband is not into schutzhund, like I am but does enjoy herding & therapy work. The puppy that Hans sent us was not only beautiful in structure + color but also in spirt & temperament.
We couldn't be happier. The dogs I purchased from Hans to work in schutzhund are working out great with super drives & just beautiful as well. You get what you ask for from them.

Take care

Relationship between AlipneK9 and Jinopo.
I get asked this all the time and there is general confusion about it. Thus I hope that this is not going to get deleated as an advertisement and I will explain to you what is the history of the realtionship between AlpineK9 amd Jinopo.

Let me start with saying that AlpineK9 imported the first Czech lines and Czech
" z Pohranicni straze"  lines into USA, Canada and now all over the world starting in 1981. Hans even personally smuggled some of the first dogs under dramatic circumstances across the Czech border in the trunks of cars with his friends.
Hans later on helped Jiri Novotny, who was at that time still in military to develop his wast knowledge and experience in Czech Border Patrol into business (Jinopo).  The relationship between ALPINEK9  thus made these K9 hidden treasures accessible to the world not only by helping to create Jinopo, AlpineK9 also was instrumental  in cooperation with some other help to get these  Czech dogs "z Pohranicni straze" registrable with AKC.  Up to that time all z Pohranicni straze dogs and their progeny were not registrable here in USA but Hans' AlpineK9 made that possible.

This was THE mile stone for importing now legendary z Pohranicni straze lines to the USA and the rest of the world. Without the volume of the dog sold to USA the business would not be possible in sporadic amounts in the rest of the world and these z Pohranicni straze lines and their progeny would cease to exist. We are now being copied by many, but we still are the original creators and promoters of these dogs.
Besides being close friends, Hans and Jiri, ALPINEK9 and JINOPO are now close partners in providing high
quality dogs all over the world. AlpineK9 and  JINOPO
would like to  encourage our customers on American
continent to make purchases through AlpineK9. It does
make things easier for us. Jinopo on ther other hand mainly sells dogs in
Asia and in Europe. The basic prices are the same regardless if dogs/pups are purchased from Jinopo or AlpineK9.
We want to encourage you purchasing dogs through AlpineK9 on American continent by giving you certain benefits with ApineK9, most
of which You will not get with JINOPO for logistical reasons.  These AlpineK9 benefits are also available to all clients of AlpineK9 in the rest of the world.   If you want to know the AlpineK9 benefits then please contact me. I am sure that I am already pushing envelope here.
Prager Hans

Please don't tell my dog all those V-rated, SchH3, FH2, KK1 dogs he and his progeny have produced (and continue to produce) are shit.
It might hurt the old boy's (and his breeder's) feelings... NOT!

Criticism only smarts when it comes from somebody one respects.
