I can't copy/paste a 2nd pic here or else I would. I've been trying to.
There's a pic toward the bottom of our Photo Album that shows this female at around 4wks old in a clothes basket with her 7 siblings. She is in the lower left with her face turned sideways sleeping-clearly different than the other pups. And before anyone looks at the pic and screams 'blue', keep in mind her coloring is actually a reddish tan (not silvery as it appears in the pic-the color is caused by the flash) and her nose is indeed black-not typical of dilutes. We have gotten other opinions who tell us that this pup is not a dilute and is not a blk/red or blk/tan either...But this shows how she is definitely different from the rest of the siblings and what I have attempted to explain since this question was brought up here. http://www.richthofengermanshepherds.com/photo_album.html
Unfortunately, I have been subject to pathetic false accusations without just cause or proof here on this database website recently, so I am not so trustful of people here nowadays, especially when someone comes here and posts stuff about something I do without coming to me at least first. It's a shame it has to be that way; many people have PMed me for advice on planning breedings, have been obtaining my help for things, etc. I have always been ethical and more than helpful to anyone who shows themselves respectable in return. Now I understand some stuff Hodie told me thru PMs earlier this year and how she was considering leaving due to nonsense.

Your puppy is normal for black & tans.
SOME puppies are lighter as they are small, and low & behold......after the "shed" of puppy coat......normal black & red or black & tan.
If the puppy has solid black pigment on nose, gums, nails.....she is not as people would say..."dilute".
Also....keep in mind, sometimes dogs have "good pigment", but don't necessarily grow to have "full black masks and saddles".
I agree with Margaret, ...puppies are sometimes "odd" in color.....but develope later.
My original posts towards this topic, was purely to explain that you must have 1 sable parent to produce a sable puppy.
Being a breeder, it is something that you should be aware of, ..so you need not question it in the future.
Trust me I take no pleasure in "bashing, trashing" other breeders,.....and I don't have a "self rightous" bone.
Best of luck to you,
Robin
