Both male and female are important to some of us in parentage.  Advertising and flashy males get noticed and so the girls get left out in the cold.  Too bad, they do contribute 50% regardless of terms like "prepotency".  What the heck is prepotency?  The pup gets a corresponding gene from each parent something may be dominant or expressed while the other contributing gene is recessive or may be not expressed - but it is there - and you will see it again someday.

Let's keep the SV system with the German dogs, the Czech /Slovak with their system  They are not apples to apples.  The East German breed survey is also NOT the same interpretation as the SV.  They likes things like "sharp"  according to old friend, deceased east German Joe Kuhn.

If with Czech or Slovak dogs you want to know what titles they really have, ask to see the original papers.  How else are you going to know?  You can write to the SV and get info easily but going to the CKMU is a little more difficult.  Or, you can ask Hans in Arizona or me in Ohio as we have the Czech and Slovak breed books.

Nancy, you're really making me wish I'd met Joe. Everyone who knows anything around here says I would've loved him. And they say he would've liked my dog,. <sigh>

What has your question got to do with it anyway it is for a bit of fun, But i for one will answer your question anyway but it makes no difference as to my opinions
No. in 60 years of keeping different breeds of  Dogs i have never bred a litter of Pups, But that will change after the end of this year when my Female gets her ScH3 and Korclasse
Oh' and by the way her Mating has already been planned out in most part But for sure she will be line bred back to her past relations, i am already planning it out and just for interest 3 Pups are already spoken for to go to ScH minded homes to be worked in that Sport, I will not be keeping any for myself.

I have never bred a litter.  That could change in the future, if I find the right female.  I am very very picky.

Are you excited ? What do you hope the pups turn out like ?

Have you been looking anywhere ? Older female or pup ??

Jeff
No' i am not excited i have a bit of research to do yet, Plus the Dog has to get the ScH3 and Korclasse first otherwise she will not be mated, but that is only a matter of time i think. Plus if she works very well on the way to ScH3 then the breeding may be delayed in favour of her work in the sport. but i am jumping ahead a bit here, but as in all Sports i always plan ahead,
You must have a Goal to aim at otherwise there is no point to it thats my opinion. some say i am over competive that would be right it is in my Blood nothing can change it at my time of life and i do not want too, it is that  very thing that keeps me going forwards and young in the mind if not the body.

What the heck is prepotency?

Prepotence is a culmination of dominant phenotypes and homogenous genotypes, whatever increases the liklihood of the producer "stamping his/her mark" into the offspring.

Excatlly, Prepotent is an animal which passes on its Traits good Traits i.e genes to an abnormal percent of its off spring, Therefore making it as we term it a prepotent Breeder
