And if someone PMed her then the rest of us would be missing out in that aspect. Maybe she's told the story a thousand times? Who knows? Just a shame that she doesn't come on, (or at least a rep who is first hand knowledgeable also).

There seems to be some conflicting info and some missing parts.
I know I would love to hear more about Rin Tin tin (original) and also about Strongheart.

There is a guy that claims all his dogs go back to Strongheart. I like the look of his dogs better than the current RTT dogs. www.mcknightgermanshepherds.com/

NOW the sad thing is I saw a pup in the truck of a customer of Sonic two years ago , when I sold my last pup.. THE owner of my pup called me to come look at a 2,500.00 pup from RIN TIN TIN..
Needless to say, I will not post what went thru my mind or what I told my friend.
Washed out, very thin muzzle, and no conformation at all...very skinny pup. The pup came from Daphene is all they said and was guaranteed> ? for what I didn't want to get into. My attitude would have shown and I do not have money to get out of jail.

The first paragraph is correct, as I know it also. The other day a commentor responded as "Rin Tin Tin", avatar, (to defend a comment". Could it possibly have been Daphne? But the irony is no more responses. My intentions were not to pull her out onto the carpet per se but to get some real firsthand information and history. I have not seen pups from the lineage firsthand so I can't comment. I also have read somewhere that all pups sold are already fixed as so the lines can't be influenced. (Per Duncan's either last will or personal/professional request) Who knows?

I have several books on Strongheart...but my favorite thing about him is that he reminds me very much of someone I know.
I do think it's rather sad when people have done nothing to maintain the decency of lines and their ONLY "redeeming" quality is going back to "so and so."

Yes I live in Crockett, Texas. Yes I ahve bred Rin Tin Tin German shepherd Dogs for more than 50 years.
For Sunsilver, thank you for your comments and yes, the temperament is solid enough to do bite work.
For those who do not like the color, note that Duncan crossed to Odin (One of the finest dogs of that time and from the same line as the first RTT) duncan was also co-owner of Ch. Tasso of Villa Marina - he bred to the finest lines but needed lighter dogs. For those who don't like white, remember that Horand's grandfather was white.
I am not sure who YellowRose or her purchaser talked to, but it wasn't one of my clients. I didn't have any puppies 2 years ago. People commonly try to use our name; that has been going on for decades. Our puppies are not as she describes them.
About the Nannette in the photo, if you look at the entire history of Rin Tin Tin you will see that the first Nannette died in New York at the kennel of Mrs. Wanner shortly after Duncan arrived from France. The dogs were about 8 months old at the time. Mrs. Wanner, one fo the country's top breeders of the time, gave Duncan a female puppy to replace Nannette - this is the female in the photo.
I don't see a need to "defend" my dogs and that is why I don't post often. I can appreciate that not everyone will like them. I know my Grandmother would, Duncan would and our clients do and they are what Duncan wanted them to be.
I don't breed a huge number of dogs and we do place a good number as service dogs or pet assisted therapy dogs for special needs children. continuing the legacy is paramount in the breeding program.
I agree with many of you Strongheart was a very nice dog and if someone has linebred dogs from that line, I think that is wonderful.
