Well said Jim , this is not about health issues , as you say the main items on the KC agenda are Double Handling and us having any type of our own events they cannot control. As for anyone voting from another breed on the future of our breed I find this unbelievable that they would even consider it. I cannot think of any one who is a true GSD owner who would want to have a vote to decide the future of another breed. I have many friends in other breeds and over the years on many occasions when they have been walking around the all breed  shows wearing a Best of Breed Rosette I have asked the question? is it a good one?  and quite often I have been told " not really" the Judge has got it wrong !! Now if this can happen when the so called Judge has been selected to judge and is approved by the KC ( remember this is the owner making the statement) Genuine Specialist know their Breed and are honest and I respect them. So why would I want other breed owners to register a vote on my breed the German Shepherd Dog. This is why all other breed owners should think twice about voting. Tomorrow, and the day will come when you need our support, would you want us to have a vote without the facts and knowledge of your dogs and vote on your breeds future . I think not.

So you DO want your cake and eat it!  Still blowing smoke and seeing things that are not there.  As for being of the English persuasion you could not be more wrong, only this weekend I judged a group and put a GSD second, one by a German import and bred by someone who has bred, shown and judged for longer than many of you have been in the breed.

And like I said, if you want to know something, go to the horses mouth - you might save yourselves some handwringing anguish - its what i did and my question was answered.

As for your so called support, count the ones you can really rely on, its easy, most of them are on here spouting the gospel according to David Payne.

Never been any doubt on that one, Jeevs... what's he point of having cake if you can't eat it?

Let me assure you, Jeevs... VERY FEW supporters come on here.  David Payne has made a lot of sense in what he's written, as have others.  It shouldn't matter who writes the truth, if it's for the betterment of our breed, I'm surprised at the amount of people who can't see beyond personal likes and dislikes... it serves no useful purpose at all.

As for the horse's mouth... most of what the KC spouts, is more akin to what comes out of the horse's arse!

Jeevs. Be sure that we are not only having public debate here but asking the questions in private through the proper channels. You seem to have more success getting a reply though!

So Jeevs

you say   -

"And like I said, if you want to know something, go to the horses mouth - you might save yourselves some handwringing anguish - its what i did and my question was answered".

So are you telling us that Doreen - or an EC member has TOLD you that you will be getting a letter even though you dont belong to a branch.  If so, that is exactly what is the concern - you have gone to the trouble to ask, you have read the posts here and wondered if you will be getting a vote and how, and you have asked the question..... how do others fare in your position? others that are not computer literate, and my bigger picture is I wondered on 24th January what BAGSD stand would be on this letter, and I was told categorically by an EC member that BAGSD would be signing, there was no doubt of that, and that Sheffield GSD would be signing and there was no doubt about that - why do you think people are now asking for clarity for the vote count and clarity as to everyone being included.  It still boils down to democratic ways of dealing with members.  No smoke blowing, no seeing things that are not there, its about making sure that things are there to see. Why is it not on the BAGSD website in their paragraph so that non branch members know they will be receiving a letter, and more important how will that letter read.  So I repeat

great news if you are right - but I have certainly missed it in print - where can I direct people to for them to know that is correct?   Mo.

They will do what they did in the olden days before computers - wait till the postman drops the letter through the letterbox.

Love to see the letter - no doubt I will, as some friends are non branch members....... watch and wait I say.   Mo.

You sound like you are in the know more than the rest of us Jeevs - wouldnt be an EC member by any chance would you     Mo.

by Jeevs on 08 February 2010 - 23:02

You're having a laugh, who'd want that job the way you lot slag them off and accuse them of dishonesty and having no integrity!  A job incidentally that they do voluntarily and as a result of being voted in by members!   From what I have seen this past few weeks you should be grateful you still have a committee.  I for one congratulate them for not stooping to the levels that others have and for conducting themselves with honour.  (And I am not related to any of them, or entering a dog under any of them either!).  Just able to see things from a clear perspective.

by Penny on 08 February 2010 - 23:02

OK Jeevs, you passed the test, Mad Mo is SURE you are an EC member.....

and for conducting themselves with honour

that bit did it, for sure, and now you will be kicking yourself - but dont worry your secret is safe...     Mo.
