Best new working line stud. What does that mean exactly?

Asking because I have heard many people refer to Schutzhund as a sport and game. I realize that Schutzhund was one component, used at one time, to determine if a dog was breed worthy and may still be used to some degree for this purpose but, by and large hasn't it become mostly a sport?

Wouldn't the true working dog really be by definition the LE, PP, SAR, Service and Herding dog? And therefore, wouldn't the best new working dog be the sires that produce the best candidates (repeatedly) for LE, PP, SAR, Service and Herding?

Not trying to offend anyone, just trying to get some clarification.

C

PS, So what about those best new working line stud dogs?? Any more candidates?

I live in Seguin Texas. East of San Antonio. Bring your dog down, and we can train together and tell each other how f    d up the others training is. Nothing better than doing that.

Quote:  Your reading comprehension is not good.

I must just test well. You were making goofy conclusions, so I thought I would do the same.

There are many many people that read this stuff that never ever post. Maybe some of them are listening to what I am saying. Who knows. Every time that I write something I have to think about how to put it down on the page and still have it make sense. Doesn't always work, but then I get made fun of, and go back and try and figure out what it is that I didn't write, forgot, assumed, or whatever, maybe I get it down better this time.

Of course when I am making fun of people, well, that is just too easy.

I liked the thred because I was kinda hoping some people would come out with some dogs that are not known but they have something special to offer. I was hoping for videos of them training, maybe showing more that just a routine. Maybe clips showing a dog in training, maybe showing drives. So far.... nothing.
I am looking for a stud for my female. Right now, I am kinda dissapointed.

I know there are great dogs out there. dogs that are solid, real and have the heart, work ethics, and drives. Maybe the people who own them are not so heavy into advertising, they just work the dogs and maybe have a litter but nothng huge. That is ok..if somebody knows of a dog, titled, healthy nice male, medium size (75 pound) that made you go.. wow..that is a NICE DOG..let me know I will research and I will do the rest of the homework.
My friend's dog made me go.. wow that is a nice dog..but he is mali.. I need a GSD!

thank you for any suggestions.

Please I am looking for a working dog that is mature latest at 3 years. I dont like those Laaaate bloomers that hang out and actually show you something decent at 7 years of age!

Fellofher,
Super dog, very social and environmentally sound.  My question is who modified the handgun to fully auto?

Firstly i can say that the side of the WL that i am interested in is the sport side ScH.over here in Belgium of course they have service dogs regards Dogs of this breed used for herding i would think not it is not a country for that purpose, Then you have FR and BR sport, in my Province there is none at all and that side does not interest me,
So for my Sport i looked for the type of Stud to suit my purpose for the Pup i want it to breed, and the one i picked turned out the right choice for me of that i am sure.
I really doubt if i had gone to a Stud as said that breeds other types of working dogs for other purposes i would have got any better with regards to what Guys look for in a Dog for Sch, huge drives which are turned on instantly and she can switch off just as fast, Calmness, Strengh for the size of the Dog and Speed is Like a Greyhound very very fast, as said by one Guy much thought of over here Crazy Fast. So do your homework a lot before you decide which stud to use, I did

Daryl,
Sorry, I haven't been on here since last night. I don't need to post any videos of my dogs because I don't make ridiculous claims about them being "extreme". You, however, do, so, I would like to see what "extreme" is. You also claim that he is what is needed to improve the breed, so, why not show us all, so that we know what we are, and, have been missing? The videos we make of our dogs are done so for the purpose of training and seeing how they have imporoved over time, not so we can sell puppies to less than knowledgeable people. When you can prove to people that your dog is in the top 1% of all of the best bred working line GSD's then maybe we can start talking about "extreme". (What the heck, I'll even go down to the top 5%)
As for your web site, I didn't have to study it. It's pretty easy to see the mistakes instantly.

I also have a question about Faro that I believe you used to own, but, now your ex-wife does. I think that this is a very legitimate question because he is the grandsire on the dam's side of one of my dogs. How is it that he can be V rated and KKl1 when he only has a title of SVV1 which isn't recognized by the SV? Am I wrong on this? I really want to know because I was under the impression that the SVV/ZVV system is not recognized by the SV.

Hi Jim,

Rush isn't mine, I have a litter sired by him and he definitely left his mark :). I'm pretty sure the handgun only fires blanks and came that way.

I don't think so. While there are probably individuals that could produce very well, it is not good to generalize. For every real nice PSD I have seen, I have seen 3 that are not what I would breed to. That is another generalization, as I have not seen every PSD in the USA. It would be nice if some of the really nice ones were allowed to breed.

PP dogs I have not seen any in years that I thought were worth much.

SAR. I would not think that would be something I would base what I would want to breed to, it would have to be the dog, and would have nothing at all to do with the fact the dog did SAR.

When I was a kid, there were still pedigrees with HGH titles all over them. The dogs that I saw that had HGH titles prominently in pedigrees were some real nice dogs. I would love to see that come back.

Most of the time, you need to look at the dog, and be around the dog a lot to really tell if you like the dog a lot. I think that is where the EU has a huge advantage, as they can see a lot more dogs that we can very easily.

Unfortunately...I have seen and heared...time and time again people dissconsidering a dog that is working in SAR. I think it comes from the fact that most people do not know what kind of drive and determination is required for a SAR dog that is operational for real SAR missions.
In IPO or SCH the dog must work for maximum 2-3 minutes without getting a reward and all the things the dog has to do is an exercise he has repeated thousands of times!!!!
Do you even know how mutch drive and determination needs a rubble search dog to be able to work in a colapsed building or in an avalanche site where he has to make the alert (barking) when he is even 4-5 meters away from the victim and the dog can't even see it? How can annybody dissconsider this in favor of a IPO or Sch dog that has to work for 5 minutes in a verry familiar environement, with allmost no distraction?
I only wish that all this people can participate in a real SAR mission. I am sure that they would change their mids if they have the guts to hang in there long enough
