You mean punctuating it properly would help.

I don't like extreme drives that prevent a dog from living a life in a home with a family - and I definately don't like hectic or hyper, which is the main reason I don't like Malinois for myself.

Extreme drives don't prevent a dog from living in home among family.  A little behavior modification and a clear head is all that's necessary to teach the proper context for behaviors.

I guess your inexperienced view of what extreme drives are, and my experienced one are quite different then.  I don't consider a high drive dog that is a good house/family dog an "extreme" drive dog.  I have had extreme-drive dogs, and no they were not hectic or hyper - but they also were not good house/family dogs.   I do think that extreme-drive dogs can be excellent to add to a working breeding program, as long as the nerves and temperament are correct - but I wouldn't breed extreme to extreme, because for my program I am looking to produce dogs with excellent drives for working, but not so much they can't settle in the house and with children (and small pets)

So Love my Canine, why are you asking me?  Bandit has been producing excellent puppies for service work, schutzhund, SAR and police, as well as obedience, agility, etc etc etc!  Bred to many different females.  I had Hexe here in my kennel for over a week while she was being bred.  I didn't have a speck of a problem with her temperament, and I liked her structure and bloodline.  I don't expect the BREEDER (who is not myself) will have any problem with any of the puppies - they should be excellent for anything any buyer wants to do with them.  I suspect that pulling people out of their wheelchairs is not what they will be trained to do, if they are placed as service dogs.  Just a guess, though LOL

My extreme drive dog settles perfectly fine in the house and among children and small pets.  Your lack of experience is your misfortune.

Landing on the moon 25X wouldn't make Armstrong a better astronaut, but crashing it might've made him a better muslim.

love my canine, just curious if you have any dog to contribute to this thread. Or is it just a non stop yakker with no neutral.

I'm trying very hard to learn what is correct, but this is something I did learn many years ago concerning all the "experts" I have met in the dog world.

"Don't tell me what you know, show me what you got"

Thank you Molly for answering my questions! That was a very good video.  I admire you for your answers to some of  criticism on here. To me that speaks volumes.

I do not come to this forum much so do not know all the history and why you seem to be targetted on here. I only come here occasionally to look something up, ask a question, and if a thread interests me, read it. I have enough negativity in real life to get involved here and I admire those ( and theire are many) who keep educating and encouraging others about the GSD.

I hope to get my next GSD from you in about a year, when my boy, Benedict is 3 and I will hopefully be working less hours.  I will  want one that with training can be a hiking buddy, therapy dog to visit my mother and teens in prison and hospitals, perform some service tasks, maybe do some heridng!
