David

As you know I am wholeheartedly with you on this subject. For it to be pushed aside for two years is unsatisfactory. I am afraid that you are banging your head on the wall in trying to debate this matter with Sue. From her posts I can only conclude that she does not want this scheme and, if she does not want it then nobody can have it. In fact she has already said on this thread “I do not necessarily see it as a major priority at this time. There are so many more things that we need first that we do not currently have access to.” Despite requests for details on the things that are needed first she has not given a clear response.

I have no more to say on this thread. Others more closely related to the subject need to come forward and contribute to the priority of this matter.

The Koerung "requires" an SV DNA Parentage Test.
The Koerung is a "requirement" for the Working Classes (Male & Female) in the British Sieger Event and The GSDL/WUSV Regional Events.

The clear "logic" is for:
The GSD Breed Survey to "require" a DNA Parentaage Test.
for the Adult Classes (Male & Female) in the British Sieger Event and The GSDL/WUSV Regional Events.

The KC Good Citizens Bronze Award "requirement" - introduced from January 1st 2011 - (God forbid) - "requires" administration and a database input/record, as do all other test results "required" by the GSD Breed Survey.

I am now becoming VERY seriously concerned as to the "real" reasons for avoiding a DNA Parentage Test for the GSD Breed Survey - perhaps the "real" reasons would be VERY "revealing"..

Mackenzie,  you are so way out of line with your statements that you aren't even worth bothering with. David knows me much better than to even contemplate your ridiculous misconceptions of me, but since you do not know me and I have absolutely no desire to know you I don't give a fig what you think of me.

I USE THE SV DNA SCHEME and since I breed sparingly, and own DNA proven progeny I have absolutely nothing to FEAR.

Now lets examine you, does anybody in the UK really know who you are? Where do you live? What have you bred? What success, if any, have you had? Do you judge? Have you spent time and money for years banging your head against the Breed Council brick wall. Did you spend 5yrs on the GSDL Counsel, regularly driving 200 miles at your own expense to keep it afloat from its large debt and the KC threat of de-registration, until it was back in the black? Have you had your living room overtaken by filing cabinets etc to be Gen sec of the other British WUSV Breed Club to walk away when in their  unprofessional-ism  they expected me to corroborate their constant lies and deceit ?

Just how much do you know about the running of the different organisations in this country. I sometimes wonder just how much others know. The British Sieger committee have no jurisdiction over the Breed Council Surveys, it consists of representatives from three organisations, one of which isn't even a member of the Breed Council !

REGARDLESS of what anybody thinks a Data Base can be used for, has no-one heard of the DATA PROTECTION ACT??

I warned earlier about the need for silence, how loose tongues can costs lives. You may just have scuppered the boat and put plans back years. Hope you are happy now, mission accomplished Eh?

Data Protection Act - ????
Need for silence - ????

I have an abhorrence of innuendo - whatever the perceived cost.

"inclusion" v "exclusion"

DNA Parentage Test ???

Videx post says

If funds are needed to help with this GSD database perhaps we should call for such fundraising efforts. I would definitely contribute.

Count me in on that too - its high time we did one thing or the other, we cant "play" act forever.  Mo.

Sue

I have scuppered nothing.  Nobody will lose their life over anything that I have written here.  What anyone has done, or, not done in the breed is not relevent to this discussion because it is not rocket science to realise that a DNA scheme is important to the breed itself.

I also agree with Mo who has stepped up to the plate and, like her and David, I too will make a contribution at the appropriate time.
