Mirasmom, looks like neural tube forms and closes around 17 to 20 days after fertiliazation in puppies. Do you remember when about you gave the antibiotics? Just curious.

Joan thanks for the post ex-plaining your use of the V drug and thank you too Jenn. When I go get food again I will make sure and pick up a bottle of it. I was using the sulfa salve for different things but then it got to where it didn't work so good. So I will deinately get this, to have just in case..........................

I think I would also skip the anti-biotic at this point.
Is it worth the risk of what mirasmom described? And really, the cost of the V would be my last consideration with a prego, espevially considering the possibilities of birth defects.
I would even prefer to soak it open a little and goop it good with some good old neosporin.
If you watch it closely, you should be able to keep ahead of a major systemic infection.
