You're right, Steve, that the AD is one of the requirements for the Körung but I've also never heard of any rule requiring a BH pior to the AD either...neither in the states nor in Germany...and can't find the requirement in the SV rules either. Are you sure this isn't a rule that's specific to Belgium?

Keith
Yes i said it does apply to Belgium and suprisingly not the SV. I have been looking this afternoon for a AD for Gina there is one in 2 weeks time but as she has not got her BH she cannot go for it, I have booked her in for September 18th for the BH, the only other AD this year is right across the other side of Belgium near the coast and it will mean a 3 oclock start in the morning to get there with the dog and Cycle, then do the Test other than that not until Feb of next year.
It is not that inportant that she does it this year anyway she has to get her ScH1 before she can get a Korung as you know so that will not be before the spring of next year. The Last Trials over here finish on December 12th and do not start again until the 5th Feb 2012 so a couple of months break

Thanks for your response, Steve.
I did several AD's with my dogs in Germany without having a previous BH (way back then it was still called VB) as the VDH and WUSV rule book in German doesn't require any previous title.
http://www.schaeferhund.de/site/fileadmin/download/satzungen/so_dir-818_vdh_pruefungsordnung.pdf (VDH and WUSV rule book /German - see AD page 83).
Our Canadian translation of the rule book says the same:

I was looking on the FCI website but couldn't find the rule book there. Do you have a link for the FCI rules, that would be interesting...if there are differences, the AD regulation is probably not the only one.
I wonder why it is different in Belgium...maybe because of the age restriction...BH with 15 months, AD with 16 months?
I'm aiming for my next BH and AD in October...would be good if my bike had proper brakes by then!
Have a great day!
