Just watched the video.....YES ditch the sun glasses. She knows the exercises, but there are things you can do to make this look better. Remember that heelwork is a dance, a partnership. You should pay the same attention to your dog that you'd like to see her pay to you. Walk with a purpose, you know where you're going! Rewards should be random and unpredictable. If you only give the reward on the halt, then THAT is where your dog will learn to look up at you. She won't bother looking up the rest of the time. I like to reward by releasing the dog to the toy and then playing tug, rather than throwing the reward away from you. Playing tug makes you part of the game and keeps her attention on you, while throwing the toy takes you out of the reward picture. Hope that makes sense.

Kim, look at the video at 2:03-2:04 looks to me like you confused her when you threw the leash over your shoulder, she looked like she thought it was a ball toss and was ready to retrieve, make your movements more precise and easier for her to follow, your hand movements are a bit to erratic. It might help if you toss the ball out instead of up, underhanded instead of over the shoulder .A little more excitment and reward will definately be a plus at this point. Overall, I thought she did a fair job with her part, especially with it being the first time, I agree you need to lose the sunglasses and concentrate on improving your handler skills, keep everything a little clearer for her and keep her focused, I think she'll do fine. I'll also add that the performance would have looked much better if the camera work was done with a tripod. Michael
