The canine nutritionist I know has researched this and found this out themselves.

I personally feed the Raw Prey Model Diet.

I know this is an older post, BUT, I have just started feeding some of my dogs TOTW, I am also feeding Fromm Gold to some.
I started feeding TOTW cause I saw a dog that was great looking and he was feed TOTW.
Well, one of my dogs that sometimes has itchy ears, is looking great and no longer has an ear problem,
it's like a miracle, she's looking great in EVERY way, shinny coat and all.

Now after reading about TOTW having Ethoxyquin in it, I'm willing to try something else, grain free with fish in it,
does anybody have some suggestions, I don't care about the price, cause it will just be for the one dog, everyone else does fine on Fromm, or raw beef & chicken.

I just don't want to feed raw fish, so I need an alternative , so it would be kibble with some kind of fish and no Ethoxyquin,

   Thanks,

After a time without GSD we are bringing home a new puppy this Saturday. Feeding a grain free dry food is my choice and I researched ethoxyquin free. I avoid toxin exposure whenever I can and don't want to feed our new little boy synthetic chemicals either. Ethoxyquin is also a registered pesticide, FDA doesn't allow it to be used as a preservative in food for human consumption, classified as a probable carcinogen. I liked the ingredients in TOTW Pacific Stream (salmon) with 25% protein rather than the TOTW Wetland and Prairie formulas 32% protein. TOTW website has a contact us so I sent a question asking if TOTW contained ethoxyquin. I received a reply back on July 26, 2010 from Dr. Melissa Brookshire DVM with Diamond. Her reply was that they did not use ethoxyquin at all in TOTW. She also included, "We, and our suppliers of fish meal, use a Vitamin E mix versus ethoxyquin." Please submit your own inquiry to TOTW rather than rely on what I heard back, would be interested in hearing the reply others will receive.

My own dog goes off food very easily so we change it often (every few weeks) The vet said we should stick to one food but she has went three days without eating so i wont put my dog through hunger so i do what she wishes which is change her food.

We normally get Naturediet and cause she is slim we may give her cat food for the Protein (vet said we can feed her it but she doesnt reccomend it long term) At the moment she is eating "Zest" She seems to like this alot (at the moment) cause not one bit of food is left uneaten :) We always mix her food with dry dog food.

I've never tried Taste of the wild dog food and i may look it up
