Are the leash corrections not just simply "checking the dog" to keep her clean when she comes into the blind? We do this in training, however, we put a white painted board across the front of the blind and if the dog roaches or crosses the board then we check the dog. This bitch to me looks like a tough bitch who because she is in such a high state of drive doesn't acknowledge the correction or maybe the corrections take her higher in drive. I had a Korbelbach bitch like that. Vickie

I believe Koos does this with his bitches (& dogs); he builds intensity with frustration while learning the dog in the B&H.

The irony here is we are all seeing the same video. Opinions, interpretations and perceptions are and can be different. Unless one is there we don't know exactly what the man is doing.

For dude, you state something to the effect that the decoy doesn't raise the stick till the dog is already in grip, (what stinks is you can never go back to the block you're replying to so I might not have you word for word). The very first scene, the decoy raises the stick before the dog bites.

Then you state something to the effect the dog can't contain it's movement?

I don't know the man or his ways of training. And he might be doing something with his own "twist". The man is the "post". His feet never moved, planted. The only way that dog advances is if the handler stumbles or the decoy moves forward. The dog can not advance any more than the length of the leash, (we'll just say 6') My observation tells me this dog is strong/powerful hence the man is holding the leash with two hands. By his size I don't think the man is weak. Thus building intensity for the dog. Now I don't see the "popping" as correction and since he has two hands on the leash he wants maximum effort when he denies the reward, thus building equal intensity. The dog only wants the reward, the bite.

Now watching the decoy, one I would think by his actions he reiterates that the dog is strong/powerful. Now I know decoy work is hard work and very physical. One, we don't know if this is the very beginning of training or the first dog in training but you can tell by the decoys' breathing, heaving of the shoulders, the way he readjusts his back and shoulders that that dog is a WORKOUT. Intense.

Now when we see the dog still on the sleeve, having trouble coming off that could just be that his teeth are caught up/snagged on the sleeve not that it was a weak bite (or how you described it, can't remember.) JMO

That bitch would show that intensity no matter what was happening....The supposed leash corrections are just harrassing that bitch:-)....as if she needed more drive:-)

Yes she is. We have no idea how far along in training she is? She's a good one and she will only get better! JMO.
