Formerly known as "police dogs" for a while, but that wasn't proper.  Now that they're not all German, I'd propose dropping the "German" description, especially if the german standards don't apply.  Some people dislike use of the term "DDR dogs", as it is applied in today's breeding.  I know some Czech line breeders take offense to Americans breeding "Czech" lines that aren't born in the Cz Republic, and Slovak folks taking offense that their native born dogs are inappropriately labeled  "Czech".  "Arizona Shepherds" was already taken, sort of.  At least the black ones.

That kind of reminds me of; what does a Brazillian call a Brazillian nut? ----a "nut".

Quote: by the time this thead is over, I wonder what those will call their new "super breed" of dogs, formerly knows as German Shepherds.

Wouldn't that be awesome ? No more shitters running in circles, with one out of every thousand actually being able to do something except bang his hocks together.

Look at all the money you people will save, as we still sell pups for around a grand. It is going to be so nice to get everyone on the same page. I like the idea of classes so people can clearly see what drive is supposed to be.

Hey Gustav,
nice dogs out of Jeck, yes!!! You do remember Ruger vom Haus Dexel owned by Mike, don't you? Nice working ability but ear problems. You had to be careful with that issue as well in Jeck's progeny.

Jeff,
Frigga left my kennel at 8 weeks of age. So no, I do not have any videos of her. I only took Jim Hill's word for it. So, you would have to contact him for that. But I bet that there are no videos because this all was kind of before youtube and similar services existed and Frigga is long gone now. She was born 15 years ago.

Jacko,
and your credentials are? All I hear from you is a yap, yap in the background - nothing of essence to contribute. But hey, I give everybody the benefit of the doubt. So, comon and put it on the table for us to see!

darylehret,
working-dog.eu had announced their intentions about collecting Sieger Show results in their last monthly newsletter (it was in German though). They sent an email asking for help to accumulate results and information, not only from the German Sieger Show but other countries as well.

Alphapup,
I won't try to convince anybody, not interested. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. And it is a proven fact  that you cannot change the opinion of a person who is convinced that his is the only valid one. So, I won't waste my time.

Ruger was a nice dog that I worked many times. One of two police dogs from America that passed at the German Meistershaft(sp) Competition for police dogs in late nineties. Yes, ears were a problem with Jeck also.

I did , I put my thoughts right there.   Jeff said it was a great idea.  He just did not suggest names.

You can read my posts to see what I have said about me, I am just a guy who loves his GSD's.    It is just a shame they get old and pass.  I am just gald I have a new puppy to enjoy.

Mix bloodlines to improve is a great thing.   I know who I would call for that advice if I were inclined to do so.   They are very accomplished folks that I trust.  As for me, I decided not to go that route with my girls and just enjoy them.

Good luck on your quest to improve your dogs.

20 pages later, and you still think this is a good thing. What was it that convinced you ? Was it all the evidence that show line dogs that sorta work are rare as fuck ? Was it that the show line people have to go back 40 years ?? LOL Love to know.

What an AWESOME display of not giving a shit. So glad to have you here.

I wonder how many vocal people in this thread actually had a working line / showline mix.
I had a wl/sl female in the 90s and would buy her again instantly if I could.
( in hindsight )
