Thanks for the great responses and links i have learned so much from this forum. I would have done better by my former dogs if I had come here sooner,
. Benny will be neutered at age 2. My vet wants to nueter or spay all pets at 4-6 months but I have found a new holistic vet that says wait until he is 2 because the hormonses are beneficial for his decelopment.

Good for you. It's been several months since you first posted this. Did his other testicle ever drop?

Last check about a month ago and it had not dropped.

Shepherdpal,

My pup will be 8 months on 11/29 and still only has one testicle down. I'm now resigned to the fact that the other will not drop and that is life. Sucks but it is what it is. I am still continuing on with him in his training and will not have him neutered until age 2. He is looking to be a great sport dog already! He loves it.
No guarantees when you get a puppy and I had plans for this one. But I will still continue with the rest.

Do you have a reference link about it being passed from the dams side? I have heard it before but couldn't remember where.
