Unfortunately, I woke up this morning to severely swollen feet and ankles, sciatica is kicking my butt. 4 hours worth of driving is not what the Dr. ordered for this preggo girl. I'll look for some trials a bit closer coming up in the next few months I think, and in the mean time, work on long sits and see if I can't make my high jump a little more movable and take it to various locations. There were only 2 dogs out of 9 that made qualifying scores yesterday. One lady was on her 6th NQ. I feel like a quitter for not going, but on the other hand, my body is not cooperating like it was 5 months ago.

Blitzen is right, its 3 qualifying scores under 2 different judges. Yes, much more difficult then IPO obedience..

Xeph, you're right with the sit to down or down to sit. NQ either way. That's ok, I know what we need to work on for the next go round :)

It was fun, regardless of NQ, and I wasn't nearly as nervous once I actually got in the ring. The judge was really nice, as were the other competitors.

Indeed!  By the way, I only pointed out the difference between NQ and DQ because a DQ basically means your dog bit the judge (or some such) and has to be reinstated by AKC.  I think it's pretty clear that Nero isn't likely to do that :D

Good luck to you, wherever you decide to trial next :)

@ Blitzen, I was aware that only two judges for rally, but unaware that it applied to CD, etc.
Purpose of my above post was to point out the difficulty in attaining an AKC title, compared to IPO. No knock for either. But you know how some people take things very personally, LOL.

Melissa,
Sciatica from pregnancy kicked my butt too this past year - I could barely move. It's tough to even train like that, let alone travel and trial. Kudos to you for keeping at it!! Nero looks great in the vid, love his enthusiasm.

There will be more trials. First things first.

Joanro, I guess when AKC started to approve multiple shows at the same site they thought that the hosting clubs should be able to share the expenses of the OB judges too, so decided that 2 judges were enough. I have no clue when that change happened, I've been out of the OB loop for many years, just got back in it last year.

Trialing while pregnant is literally a pain.  lol Throwing the dumbbell was what really got me...especially that Sch 3 dumbbell when I was 7-8 mos.  It will be fun to look back at the pictures when our daughter is older though and say "you were there!"

Midgie yes!!! The AKC dumbbell is not bad because it weighs next to nothing, but even the Sch 1 dumbbell, when thrown just the right (or wrong!) way pulls muscles I never knew I had!!! I don't remember being pregnant with the boys this difficult!
