Not when someone is aleways first one directing "others" to the classified section when they put their pups up to show off.
And, I don't think them little hunks gey puppy pimped either, and them little hunks parrnts I think get to stick around "after" their money making days are over.
Sorry, just don't like that kind of stuff.
Out with the old, in with the new

kitkat - - words just cannot discribe........

as far as finding loving homes or my retired dogs........thank the government for that.

i'd prefer to keep them forever, but the government has decide to limit the number of dogs allowed.........

you most likely encouraged the "anti-puppy mill" legislation which forces me to find forever homes for my much loved older dogs.

i bet you voted for obama.....

You have to make room for the next young ovaries.  Yes, it's the governments fault that you are breeding litter after litter and your worn out or non producing dogs must go to new homes.  Blame Obama, LMAO

Did you say you that "anti-puppy mill" legislation forces you to rehome dogs?????   Comparing your multiple litters to a puppy mill?  I find that very interesting.  How old is a "much loved older" dog?  I'm guessing between 2 and 6 depending on health and fertility.

federal, state, county and city........all have "anti-puppy mill" legislation.

these laws don't seem to curb puppy mills, but instead stifle hobby breeders.

just getting thru all the different levels of legislation and its contradictions takes a law degree.

i have a goal to procue top quality conformaiton dogs with the ability top reform real work.

so far some of my puppys are workig as K9, SAR and some are doing well in IPO, others are great family pets and protectors.

Nurma is 4 in excellent health and fertle, but after this litter she will be spay. I have found an excellent forever home where she will be an only pet and spoiled rotten. This is perfect for her personality.....Nurma's last litter was a year ago.

Vanessa is 3, this is her first litter.

OH shucks.....they're not being bred back to back to the point of physical exhaustion....

Slamdunc, where do you get your dogs?

My dogs come from breeders that I personally know, trust and respect.  I don't breed and only have a couple of dogs at a time.  The most I have had at one time was 3, a rescue White GSD, my V rated KKL1a SchH 3 SL male and a SG rated SchH 3 WL female.  All HOT and now I currently have one working line Male.  I am looking for a female soon, probably another pup to raise and train and then another male.  I don't have a lot of dogs, I don't breed dogs, I just work the dogs I have.

Do you keep any puppies back from your litters and train and title them?  Is that part of your goal?

by SitasMom on 17 January 2013 - 06:01

yes i hold some back and work with them.

"My dogs come from breeders"... how about that...."breeders"..........

My dogs come from breeders"... how about that...."breeders"..........

Yes, Breeders....A breeder that I would feel comfortable getting a dog from or recommending is someone dedicated to the breed, decades of knowledge and truly loves their dogs.  A person that actually works and trains their dogs, breeds with the intention and forethought of keeping puppies back form the litter to continue their personal commitment to achieving their desired results.  A person that keeps their retired females and stud dogs and plans in advance that these dogs will live out their entire life not just their competition / working and breeding days with them.  A person that loves and cares for their dogs until their golden days.  To me, a "Breeder" is someone that produces dogs and prior to the breeding has a well thought out plan, generations ahead for their style of breeding.  A person that stands behind their dogs and cares as much for every puppy they produce as they do for their own dogs.  I know people that have this commitment, desire and are responsible in WL and SL dogs.  A "breeder" also health tests their dogs, titles their own dogs, knows the strengths and weaknesses of their dogs and carefully researches and plans breeding with this taken into account.  You will NEVER see a negative thread about any "Breeder" that I know or would recommend on any forum, they simply care too much for their dogs and will do what ever they can to take care of any dog they bred.  You will find many people complementing them and endorsing them on their breeding and their dogs successes.

In my opinion, a person that buys an adult bitch in whelp or buys a bitch to get a few litters, make a buck then find a "forever home" is not a breeder, but a producer and marketer.  IMO, a "producer" puts their untested, untitled male on a female "to see what he will produce," to later neuter the male because he possibly has a genetic condition and is crippled.  To me, a person that goes through several bitches in a few years is not a "breeder" but a producer and a puppy factory.  IMO, a person with multiple litters that has already planned on placing the bitch shortly after whelping is not a breeder and really has no long term goals or aspirations other than fattening their wallet.  To me buying a  female in whelp with the intention of selling the pups and then selling the female is not a breeder.  I suppose my standards may be high, but to be a "Breeder" I want that person to do more than pump out puppies and discard the bitch.  I am not interested in people that whelp litters in their bedroom closet next to the sneakers and boots.  A website with pictures of other people training dogs and other people doing SchH or bite work is not representative of a good breeder.  Buying a dog to show at the Sieger Show does not make someone knowledgeable or an asset to the breed.  It might make for a good investment and line their pockets, but definitely not a breeder IMO.

"these laws don't seem to curb puppy mills, but instead stifle hobby breeders."

I disagree!

Yes, my dogs come from breeders or rescue and it will always be that way!
