vk4gsd - that is a perfectly reasonable question.

IMO, I agree with Christine - although he is undoubtedly
a very attractive dog, the careful stack disguises a not
quite correct croup and tailset.  Personally I'd also like
to see just a fraction more daylight underneath the dog.
(Realise that won't be everyones preference !)

He is old enough for hip and elbow results, but none are
yet shown on his pedigree page. [I note he has been
Surveyed].    And the real 'proof of the pudding'  will come
with more time, see if he gets more than his  IPO I.

It is an interesting pedigree :  something seems to have
'clicked' right with this, not particularly spectacular, com-
bination of ancestors.

So although superficially I can see what is being drooled
over, I do have queries about whether it is the entire story
with this dog.

The story unfolding is what makes this dog exciting because of who owns him.

I didn´t see the dog in real yet, so no comment from me, but the picture is great!

Underneith is a link to workingdogs. You need to sign in, then you can see several videos of Bruno.
Right now he is IPO2 / a fast normal / ED normal, out of 14 (!) a normal ancestors.
For a working line it´s totally normal, that he didn´t achieve the IPO3 yet.
They get trained, not rushed through the trials.

Hundmutter;
I am curious as to why you state that Bruno's pedigree is a
'not particularily spectacular combination of ancestors'?
I see a lot of accomplished proven dogs behind Bruno.

Personally speaking, I'm not overly sold on Bruno,
while his structure may appeal to some, he's a bit
overdone for my personal taste. Striking pigment for
sure, but he just 'looks' heavy in my eyes, and appears
as though he would not be terribly athletic. I could be
wrong, it's happened before.

I'm sure he is a nice dog, Dennis is well known for
having some very nice dogs!

Definitely a beautiful head, nice bone and gorgeous pigment.  I'd have to see him standing naturally before I drooled, but ya, he looks good at first glance.
Never cared about tail set, that is the least of my worries.

He is a nice dog for the right female, a bad dog for the wrong female.....no more, no less....is actually not my idea of working structure.

To be honest I think he on the picture is more ugly than pretty, just goes to show how different people think what is beautiful or even something to strive for in a stud.

Ok, so I was right there was more to the story !

Sorry, Dennis who ?   Not a kennel / owner I am
yet familiar with;  is there perhaps a clue in Ibrahim's
'royal' reference, that everyone is so respectful ?

Whoever they are, it would be good if they kept the
page updated.  Susie, I agree there is no rush for
such matters, better to train thoroughly and get it
right;   but we can only tell if the dog continues to
progress - and excite ! - if he continues to get titles.

He is a bit heavy at 40 kilos for a 63.5 cm dog. Hope
its all muscle.  Would fit with both what Workingdogz
said and with my perception of him being a bit deep.
I'd remind ppl I said I was being HYPOcritical ... **
Pleased he turns out to be 63.5 though !  Far too many
giants about, still.

Re the pedigree:  I see the usual german recipe on his
mothers side with SchH iii on the dogs but only SchH I
on bitches.  On his sires side a good thing is the number
of females who also have SchH 3.
I see Troll in there, once on each side;  and he has Kim
Schloss Westhausen; Uwe Kirschental; Quant Adeloga.
Plus Gildo Korbelbach and Mink Haus Wiltfield both have
good reps.   But it seems quite an 'open' pedigree, and
there does not seem to be anything all that remarkable
close up - unless in my ignorance of modern working dogs
(or of the USA !) I have missed something obvious ?
Not dismisssing any of these dogs, in any way;  just can't
find anything super-special ?

**  Sorry, I didn't say that THIS time (but I so often do !)

Hi VK4GSD:

I think the so called Hoopla is really about the dog exhibiting perfect conformation (almost) along with working abilities; and a dog that can exhibit all of that in a single picture.  Pedigree is also nice; maybe not great, but very nice and could be bred to either working or show line females or a combination of both.  That is versitility.  That shows true working dogs.  A dog that can do it all.  Don't you just love that.  I sure do.  Great days,  Nan
