Well, i guess it was 'fortunate' that another dog, much younger this time than the one in my previous post, came down with PANNUS. I went in a spin of panic and called my new vet who is much more experienced, also a vet teacher and she pounds it in what you have to do to make it work.
She prescribed the following :
Prednisone acetate 1% drops, three times a day for one month
Cyclosporin Optimmune twice a day for one month
if it shows clear reversal
then Cyclosporin once a day for one additional month and
then you can go on with just the Prednisone for life (much less costly)
I also started giving this to my older female described in the above post and she will be 12 in April. The Traumeel she still gets, but this perscription is reversing even her really bad eye. so there is hope, thankfully.

PS Justice,
There seems to be some evidence of a link betwen EBV-like viral symptoms in dogs in the research on auto-immune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis in humans, but I'm not sure from my limited reading that studies are anything but equivocal at present - nonetheless a very interesting and potentially important link - which is related to genetics. Do you have more information?
