You are a better man than me Hexe. I will bring in the other dog first then let Maya out on her own now. I didn't before but I now I will. It certainly seems at a point where now I can let her out on her own. She was leashed for three weeks and it was killing me. Our last shepherd did a really good number on her back leg and I didn't really follow the vets instructions. It took a really long time to heal and only after I had her back to the vet did the vet give me royal hell for not leashing her. She was then on a leash for the rest of the winter and could never chase a ball again.
Lesson learned the hard way, I guess. I have also really cut back on Maya's food as a skinny dogs injuries should heal alot faster. Here I am with an EPI dog on a frigging diet.
