Thanks, Abby!!

The only thing that throws me about rally is that if I ask for an animated heel and keep my energy up for her than I have been missing the signs a bit. But, If I slow the pace down than I get the signs and most of the attention but lose the "animation". Also, she does tend to forge a tad with animation. She kind of leaves a "real" heel position and is slightly in front of it but giving me attention (most of the time). She also started "chomping" while heeling and giving attention in motion. It's so WEIRD!!

My instructor wants me to stay animated as she says it's not about getting a good score or even Qing but a stepping stone for obedience and I should do it as I would want her to be down the line. She said to keep my energy up as it's more exciting for my girl and will make it more fun for her (which seems accurate). But, damned if I can't do both simultaneously..trying to stay animated for her AND make sure I read the signs quickly and accurately (without missing them, stepping on them, or just plain running them over- all of which I did yesterday for the first time... pathetic!!) . Then, throw in there trying to pay attention to my proper footwork and I am sucking..Big time! Argh!!! I just can't do all three things at once right now! I feel like such a klutz.

But, we are really coming along in our obedience (but not quite up to competitive par) as we need to be more CONSISTENT and precise throughout the whole exercise pattern and not just in pieces.  However, she's a pup and I don't drill her at all. Just throw in some obedience while we are playing for for a couple minutes here or there or out hiking or walking- just part of daily life, you know.  The only time we really "practice" is when we have our competition obedience class.
