Well, if they were trialed in a USCA trial and you have access to that organization's magazines, you could check back issues for trial results; if trialed in a WDA trial, you'd need to check the back issues of that group's newsletter or magazine. Most folks don't have access to those publications unless they belonged to said organization and saved the magazine or newsletter, though.
You can also ask to see a copy of the dog's scorebook, but yes, for the most part you have to ask the owner of the dog where the titles were earned.
