..i did not wanted to say anything regarding switching to raw...because i was involved in some of the "disagreement" my jaw did drop when I saw that after all those converting accusations to come to the "dark side" of raw feeding....i mean that great that you (steve) is willing to give it a try, i just hope it won't turn into "I tried it and it killed my dog" thread..so i am staying on a wind of caution and unpredictability...

Ladyfrost,i too was quite surprised to see Steve 1 trying raw,but i seem to remember him saying it was quite hard in belgium to find raw food suppliers.i,ve never been a great lover of complete(kibble)but it was once very hard here in the uk to access any raw dog food suppliers so one would have had to buy from local butchers n lets face it we were all conditioned to buy canned dog meat.nowadays here in the uk,there,s many raw feeding sites to glean info.,n quite a few raw food suppliers covering diff.parts of the uk,some providing a more comprehensive range of meats/rmb.i would like to feed fresh rabbit but my raw food supplier doesnt do rabbit n its too expensive to buy from butcher,10/13 british pounds per 1 skinned rabbit.Carole Spelman rheinmeister gsds.

So you get emails from some on here saying what a Prick i am, Well if you have anything about you as a person then name them on here, but i know you do not have the guts to do it,
Do you think the genuine people on here react like that hiding behind a email when they have not the Guts to say it themselves they are like you Cowards, no the genuine guys would not do that they would voice it on here at the time the same as i do,
As regards what ever you put on about dogs on this site i take no notice of at all and i would not think many do, I have seen Pic's of your Dogs condition and voiced the fact you tried to bluster your way out of it then and you are still doing it now, Not on par with what i call healthy condition i said it then and i stick by it, Now perhaps some of the faceless gutless ones on here will send you another mail to say Take no notice of the Prick, But Lady this PRICK knows what he sees and is not so gullible as some. Now you can carry on replying nothing more to say to you what has not been said

noddi....oh i completely understand you, and i had no issues with lack of ability to find suitable supplier, it's the degrading tone and approach that left a pretty big impression...thats all...
I think it's  cheaper to buy a pair of rabbits and have your own production line, just pay someone to come over and skin them they keep skin you get rabbit....they will make more $ on skin.

steve...I dont believe anyone is hiding, those who disagree with you have already stated their disagreements when disagreements started.... I hope no one will jump in here to repeat what they posted at least once before......and declaring war on "cowards" is not going to make any dog healthier, stronger or anyone smarter....

i don't need guts to tell you who calls you a prick, lol.  why would i throw someone under the bus for being truthful.  what an awful suggestion to post their names here.

pics of my dogs' condition?  that's funny everyone else sees different than you.  maybe we all need glasses.  everyone, please pm me so that i can get a group order together for glasses at wholesale prices so that we can all see as well as steve.  don't forget steve, you buy puppies that are well bred and healthy, and you start off with something positive that you have to maintain.  i start off with dogs that have been rotting in their cages at city pounds for months, dogs that were abused, abandoned, and starved because their owner thought they were getting to be too big.

no one is taking their way out of anything.  you're just a crabby old man.

Vixen
I have used supplements in adults, my current male has bad elbows although clear hips, with his elbows there was no sign of a problem it was when he was x-rayed for scoring that it showed. I then put him on Cosequin. When I discontinued it at the age of 4 he had some intermitent limping - did try several other supplements at that time which did not work. At the age of 5 1/2 he had a bone graft and metal plate in his stifle. I now use Seraquin 2mg 1 am 2 pm, I know these are effective has when I accidently ran out and he didnt have for 2 days he became stiff on the rear leg he has the plate. The Orthopeadic Vet who operated on him recommended the use of supplements but not any particular one. When scored at 13month his hips were 0:0, after his accident prior to surgery his hips, spine, pelvis and stifles were x-rayed and the vet said his hips would still pass at 0:0 there were no changes at all.

Btw folks.i can be a crabby old lady at times.,but come on folks lets not fight. The OP.wants some feed back on this topic not a load of ppl.bashing.I,M IN FAVOR OF SUPPLEMENTING FROM A YOUNG AGE,have been reading an article that said it COULD BE MORE BENEFICIAL.Carole S.

Thank you Pam for sharing this experience with your dog.  He sounds like he as sadly been in the wars with needing a bone graft and a metal plate.  Although not intentional, it obviously helped as reassurance that the tablets were effective, when you run out, and discovered the difference it made!

Your boy hopefully is recovered well now, and will continue so.

Regards,
Vixen
