I didn't tell anyone. I didn't think there was really a chance of finding out who she was but low and behold!
I am so happy that I got her history. It has made training her a lot easier and it helps me to get clarification on what I thought was her past. She is a great companion dog and she will make someone an amazingly loyal friend! As for pictures I think I can get some better shots of her soon and want to wait till then.
I'm shocked about how some people can be so decietful to breeders. :(

It is truely sad that some people do not care about the dog. Dogs are disposable to some people. Its like they are a piece of furniture... when they are not longer wanted they are "thrown out". Tiff I am glad that you took Idda in and are rehabilitating her. I wish there were more people like you!! I am glad that you were able to find out who she was and also more info about her.
GOOD JOB!!

Yeah. I checked Linda Strands kennel out online. Theres not a whole lot besides her website and a few pissed off consumer reports. What seems to have happened is that everytime someone posts something negative about Linda or her kennel, then a bunch of usernames on that same website will pop up, ALL ON THE SAME DAY, to sing her praises and call the complaintant a liar. Usually that is a sign that either she is creating multiple usernames to appear as several different people OR she is getting her friends to fire back at the complaintant.
We have that, along with this: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/forum/4022.html
Its hard to read because the post seems to be rooted on a video of someone (unrelated to this issue) working their dog. Then two people pop up in the thread, 'PowerHaus' and 'Germanshepherd', who start arguing about a dog that 'PowerHaus' bought from 'germanshepherd' (Linda Strand).
So, all in all, Iddas story is getting more and more complicated. We dont know if we can trust the story that Linda told us. She told us that Idda was imported from Slovakia as a pup to a kennel in Kentucky, where they treated her real bad. Linda bought Idda and used her as a breeding bitch for a few years by virtue of her pedigree. She then sold Idda, in whelp, to a woman a few months back. The woman then surrendered Idda to a high kill shelter where the German Shepherd Dog Rescue of GA found her, rescued her, and sent her to us for socialization and some basic training.
The problem is, with Lindas integrity being called into question, how do we trust the story we were given? Especially when the woman who bought Idda from Linda had a completely different story to tell. Its hard to figure out exactly what happened. All we do know is that Idda is with us, she is making a load of progress, and she will be ready to go to her adopted home in a few weeks after heart worm treatment (she probably contracted heart worms at the shelter she was dumped at) and being spayed.

Jyl, Thank you so much. I couldn't have found out half of what I know or even where she came from had it not been for some of the amazing people here on PDB. Thank you all so very much!

Blessings on the rescue folks who pulled her from the shelter, the person who opened their heart to her and adopted her, and to you, tiffae89, for both the work you're putting into her to get her ready for her new life as someone's cherished companion (instead of a tool for generating cash) and for being intrigued enough by her response to your 'platz' command and her tattoo to start doing some investigative inquiring! I'm glad she's getting the opportunity to be *loved* at what is still a young age, instead of spending the bulk of her life simply having a monetary value based upon how much money she could bring in via her uterus. Idda is definitely one of the lucky ones.
Now, folks, what about that 5 year old sable bitch at the Miami, OH shelter?
